"It wasn't good for anybody."

According to Empire Magazine, the five worst movie sex scenes of all time (mainstream division) are:

#5. Sharon Stone and Sylvester Stallone in the shower, The Specialist, and guess where his specialty doesn't lie?
#4. Madonna, Willem Dafoe, and hot wax to go, Body of Evidence, which has been thrown out of court, good taste, and also brings your lunch along for the heave.
#3. Heather Graham and Joseph Fiennes, Killing Me Softly, which is now officially code for something.
#2. Jeremy Irons and Juliette Binoche, Damage, which isn't just a title, it's a promise.
#1. Elizabeth Berkley and Kyle McLachlan in the swimming pool during Showgirls, and if you watch this one, consider your libido permanently drowned.

I have seen a grand total of none of these. I think I'm supposed to be thankful.

So are they really that bad? And being OT, are we really willing to let this list stand without pulling out some of the worst things we've personally seen and putting them into contention?

The sex scene from Damage is so painfully bad that I found myself wincing and turning away from the screen barely able to watch. At the same time, I thought it was fitting that the sex scene be deranged and uncomfortable as it goes along with the movie plot.

We weren't supposed to relate to these characters, and the sex scene made sure that we didn't.

Damage was the only one of these movies that I saw, and I can't comment on the rest, fortunately.

I've seen the #1 scene. It was extremely funny, but at the same time it seemed so ridiculous that if the director hadn't been Paul Verhoven, I would've been sure he was taking the piss.

I dislike all sex-scenes, pretty much. Their fakeness is so obvious, and their existence - shoehorned in between the car-chase and kidnapping - transparently calculated to boost box office.

Talk about scary for a 12 year old kid.

I saw Showgirls, and I do remember the pool scene.

But my vote goes to Lea Thompson and Howard the Duck.

A Nutzy/IceCat masterpiece.

Ew, thanks for making me spit up some of my Kit Kat bar. I had finally repressed that memory of Howard the Duck.

I've seen #1 only when I had all my movie channels for free for some reason.....

Can you say she was actiing like a fish out of water? Oh, it was bad that I was ROFLMAO as Berkley was trying to break out of her "Saved by the Bell" steriotype.

I only saw #2 ,Damage, and now I am worried about the quality of my sex life, because I don't remember the sex scene.

Is that the movie with the shot of Jeremy Irons running naked down the stairs? THAT, I remember.

I've seen #1.

Eeew.... And I saw it when I was 13. I'm shocked that I ever decided to have sex after that.

Anyone seen Last Tango in Paris?

OH GOD... ::vomit::

Oh so sanguine since 1984

Blech on William Defoe, he looks deformed. I really disliked showgirls, the whole movie was uncomfortable.

Pulp Fiction totally freaked me out, violent sex is just awful to witness on screen.

my syren special!

And I'd bet it's worse in person.

The best was Ghost, altho I don't think there was actual sex but it was erotic.
