First ST (isn't that missing a letter?) I don't know why you keep sending us to this stuff. I suspect you are actually a radical Christian tricking us into reading this stuff, hoping to gain a few converts.

Second, my favorite part is this: "A telltale sign of paganism is nudity." So do good Christians have those babies birthed already wearing clothes? Do they dress to shower? Or avoid showering?

According to the webmaster of this one, it's also about -- well -- I just found the main Women's Page and there's an article entitled 'Just Do It', which is all about why you're supposed to obey your husband no matter what. It probably goes nicely with the one labeled 'Divorce is a sin', which I haven't looked at yet. I don't even want to get near the one titled 'Mutual Submission.'

so, I started to get all indignant and prepared to look up the statistics that show that girls that participate in sports are less likely to experiment with drugs, alcohol and sex, but then the whole article struck me as kind of funny. And I happen to like my immodest attire. It accentuates the junk in my trunk.

nailbone, i don't think anyone here thinks this is representative of mainstream Christianity and I don't think anyone believes you are a crackpot.

As a Christian, I find it very hard to take offense, because this article is ridiculous and I can't imagine anyone thinking it has anything to do with me or my faith. And if someone did think I was a grade A wingnut simply because I am a Christian - why in the world would I care about that person's opinion anyway?

I guess I just figure people are entitled to their own opinions. And sometimes, yes, it makes me wince a little - but honestly I don't care. I don't care if people think I'm naive or stupid or deluded. I don't care if people generalize or condescend or purposefully antagonize me. That falls squarely in the "their problem not mine" category.

The truth is a lot of Christians have given people ammunition. This article is a perfect example of that. A lot of people have had encounters with pushy holy-rollers that have left an extremely negative impression on them. That's the experience and exposure they have had. I don't think me saying "BUT I'M NOT LIKE THAT NOT ALL CHRISTIANS ARE LIKE THAT" loudly and repeatedly is a very effective way to change their mind. I think that when you and me and Jims, etc exhibit the traits and principles of Christiainity in our daily lives without defensiveness it's a better counterpoint to the stereotype.

I'm sorry, Boner. I guess I've just had my fill of the Christian extremists lately. And it truly does make me question what faith I have.

FTR, most of my impatience with this type of carp is due to the fact that I have a staff assistant who would just eat this junk up and is constantly harping on and on about how I am "not saved" (don't know what she thinks baptism and confirmation are) and that Catholics (which I am admittedly quickly backing away from, but still identify with) are not "real" Christians (whatever that means), and that I am a deep, dark sinner because she doesn't approve of my lifestyle. This, despite the fact that I have saved her from being reprimanded by the University administration or worse many times due to her continual insistence on accosting students regarding religion/lifestyle and wanting to prominently display her religious "decorations" in our public area. She irritates me on a daily basis with pronouncements like what is found in the article. Granted, I am predisposed to dislike self-righteous "Christians" in any case, but sometimes my irritation cannot stay within the boundaries. And, having read the article, my irritation escaped.

I would not, for all the world, want one of my favorite RTVW people mad at me. Forgiven?

I am sorry that you have to listen to that crap from a co-worker. I don't understand why some "Christians" would act that way. Wow. Even as a Christian, I am completely baffled by this article. Completely and utterly baffled.

I particularly liked the argument that women shouldn't play sports because it can eat up a family's time and resounces. Whereas, if the family had a son on the football team, that wouldn't use any resources? Yeah, sure.

I think the writer is some crybaby, who got pinned once too many times by his sisters when he were little.

Wow, this is the type of church I grew up in. I looked at the directory and found I knew many of these churches well. However, my favorite part of the site was this quote (which I actually believe is quite relevant and true):
