I'm sorry, I thought I didn't have to do this explicitly, but I'd like to request a moratorium of several days on the use of that particular language.

At this point, I'd like to remind you that it was FRANCE.

It's not like it's a country that matters. Like Liechtenstein or Monaco.

Quel coincidence that you should post under my blindingly subtle crossthread.

Did you bring me anything? Like, say, some cheese?

My eyes! My eyes!

What flavor? They seem to have something like 3,645 of them.

But, then you'd have to spend the next 20 years searching for the 6 fingered man.

How bad can it be on a Monday?

"RE: Going to mall."
Posted by ExInterper on 12-06-04 at 08:45 AM
I don't think day of the week matters: it's ALWAYS bad. My mom works full time, but she still takes off a few days during this season to get all of her shopping done. I doubt she's alone.

I was at the mall the day after Thanksgiving. Compared to that, this should be a piece of cake.

Ooooo! Could you bring me back one of those big soft pretzels?

Oh man, I would give my left arm for one of those right now. Not the right one though. That would just be silly.

I am going to the mall as well *sigh*! I have a 25% off coupon on any purchase from Kirkland's. Surely to goodness I can find my sister something there!

Could you pick up a few things that were on SS's list?

1. hackey sack (couldn't find any around here)
2. flex-fit hat, black
3. pogo-stick

Thanks!

No, but I could use some batteries.

Incessant whining.
ETA: Not for *that* massager, though.

Could you pick up some stuff for me too? I need bubble wrap, some of that brown wrapping paper stuff, and a toy for my sister's dog. I think that's it. I was so excited because I convinced myself that I was done and I'd hate to go to a busy store just for those few things. Thank you!

I forgot to get a present for my sister's dogs. Since the dogs have taken over her life I don't have to bother with stuff for her anymore--just the friggin' dogs. This involves me walking thru Pets R Us or whatever that store is called and looking for stuff a Tsit Tzuh might like. Not that I have any idea what a Shih Tzue might like or even how to spell Shizt You. One year I accused the post office of losing my gift because I couldn't figure out what to get.

On the other hand, she gives a home-made crocheted hat. Every year. So really--how hard should I look?

I don't know how to spell it either. LOL @ blaming the post office.

I said I wasn't buying any dogs anything this year (except my own, of course) but her dog is so great. She's always so happy to see me. Of course, if I get her dog something, I have to get my dad's dog something. Of course, if I get my dad's dog something, I have to get my mom's dog something. It's a vicious cycle.

I think DF's mom is giving everybody homemade scarves this year. Cool, you roll around in your money, I'll wrap myself in the friggin scarf and save myself some money on the heating bill.

Biscuits. Or a chew stick. That always works. I have an aunt who never got married and has no children.... only dogs. I have a dog, so our dogs exchange gifts (we're the only ones with pets). Maybe a squeaky toy. I usually go for a large chewing bone.

My dog? has her own stocking that is stocked with treats on Christmas morn'.

Yeah, my dog would love a big chewing bone! She could gnaw all day long! Great idea.

They make those big candy cane shaped rawhide treats that are cute. Some of the pre-stuffed stockings are pretty cute too.

yep, mine too. We have six stockings and two people.

Still alive. Coughing up my own blood every twenty seconds, but alive.

Oh, and for future lack of reference, it helps a lot if you let me know what you need before I leave. It helps even more if you pay for it.

Because I'm a kind, considerate person who will happily do your shopping for you and mail you the results, saving you time, energy, and injury?

(Did anyone get through that sentence without cracking up?)

Consider it done! My mom braved the mall Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday she couldn't find a parking space and had to circle around forever. Not one to give up, she parked out in BFE, then braved the lines. Came home and swore to do all of her shopping online, as I did, but then went back to the mall on Sunday-when she actually was able to find a parking spot within 5 minutes. Good luck Estee! May the Force be with you!

Glad you're back. I actually had (and I do mean HAD) to go to Wal-Mart yesterday. My toddler has to dress up as a shepherd tonight and it's the only place I could get fabric. And I'm about to go to Target.
