"Pressing decisions"

Which rug?

My furniture:

The colors (other than the pillow, which looks fairly close to this picture) are all lighter than they appear. The colors are gray, a rosy taupe color, a funky meditterranean looking blue only darker, black (all of the wooden stuff is black), and a light taupe.

We're leaning toward the domino looking one (top) but it's the most expensive with shipping. The middle one is hte cheapest and I think the colors are wrong. The third just looks cool and hte colors are right on.

Dh is no help...they're all "ok". He doesn't realize how expensive rugs are. The most espensive one is only $240 foran 8x11, wich is a steal...he doesn't know that though! Help me choose and tell me how much you love my new furniture!!!!

I love the 2nd rug, but I think the first one goes best with your furniture. We need a few rugs with the wood flooring upstairs, but I loathe shopping with hubby. I pick ultra cool ones and he picks ones that look like they belong in his mother's house. So? We have NO rugs. Bleh.

Good luck, Mons. *Smooch*

I'm with Asrai. I like the second one a lot but the first one will look best with your furniture. Nice looking room.

I like the first one the best, but I have always been partial to black in rugs. Do you want the rug to be a focal point?

I don't care so long as the colors sorta go and it keeps my tootsies form freezing in the winter!

I like more modern stuff (dh and I actually have remarkably similar tastes in house stuff, but he's just not one to get excited about anything). I like black, too. I wouldn't mind the rug being a focal point, but like I said the main purpose is to not stand out for looking like it doesn't belong in the room and to keep my toes from forming icicles.

I love all those rugs (and your new furniture) but I like the top one best. That is such a cool design. Next fav is the bottom one. the one in the middle is ok, but doesn't match colors as well. My vote is for the top one.

But one is neat too.

Good thing I have no money to spend because I would never be able to make decisions like this.

Love the furniture too.

I like the last one.

Can you find the colours of the top one with the pattern of the second? That's what I like best of each.

To be honest, I don't really like any of them. But, I'd choose a rug that had some of the blue in it too. I guess that's what's missing from the 3 choices.

Now, if I HAD to choose between your 3, I'd go with the top because it incorporates more colors and a nicer design. The 3rd one is not bad, but it looks like a bizarre cobblestone road.

I think the top one is best. It has the right colors, and the circles coordinate nicely with the pillows.

The second one has a nice design, but wrong colors.

The third one doesn't go at all.

Have fun decorating!

I feel you derrogatory comments regarding carpet #3 are uncalled-for.

How would you like to be called out for not "belonging!"

Justice for crazy cobblestone carpets!!!

You crack me up Spidey. And you're so smart to see my thinly veiled attempt at a personal attack.

Crazy cobblestone is fine, but it clashes with the pillows, and would fit better in a more "country" style decor. But seriously, don't take my word for it, I don't have a very good eye for decorating.

clashes with the pillows

I agree on that, but I blame the pillows.

I like the third one too - dammit Spidey I guess the two of us are gonna have to go move to France with our unAmerican cobblestone rug.

The founding fathers walked on cobblestone roads you know - the road to freedom was paved with effing cobblestones.

"and finally "

you would have to pry the third rug out of my cold, dead hands.

You have GOT to be kidding me? What's next??? Faux tile? How about a nice brick pattern??? Hmmmm. Cobblestones should NOT, I repeat, should NOT be used as carpeting. It's wrong, I say, dead wrong.

I guess that sortof thing would appeal to the cubic zurconia (sp?) crowd. Hey, I know, let's ask Diamond. She has good taste.

I'm gonna have to go against the grain and go with #3. It just jumped out at me. You also say the colors are right on.

"RE: Pressing decisions"

I'll take bachelor...I mean carpet number one. The twisty pattern ties all the colours together.

#3 reminds me of the Flintstones.

I immediately like the 3rd one. Other posters didn't think the colors in the 3rd matched. I re-read your post and you say the colors in #3 match perfectly, so that does it. I love the 3rd one.

I like the third one. But I like that crazy cobblestone look. The first one is okay, but not one that I would buy, and I do not like the second at all.

"Cool!!"

I'd take the rug at the top. It's that picasso cubism thing working. I like stuff like that.

I'm sorry, but those rugs are SOOOOO late-70s.

"RE: Pressing decisions"
Posted by PhoenixMons on 10-14-04 at 00:01 AM
that's probably why they're so cheap ...I hope they aren't actually from the 70s...ewwww

Seriously, the first one is definitely my favorite and the only one I'd really like to see in my living room, but we just spent a lot of dough on furniture and a kicka$$ mattress, so a difference in $65 is a big difference.

I have expensive taste but rarely (almost never) indulge and splurge. The rugs I really really like are like $900 and up and nope, I ain't spending that much money with a military salary for something I'll be trampling all over. That rug'd better be coated in never-ending chocolate (though I don't think I'd want to eat chocolate that was stepped all over and lying on the floor...lol)!

like the cobblestones, like Value Pooh, but it's true that they don't go as well with the pillows.

You need a Flokati rug.

"RE: Pressing decisions"
Posted by PhoenixMons on 10-14-04 at 09:11 AM
Yep, that would be way cool...I can envision thousands of Kaia's stickers and all sorts of fruit snacks stuck in there

No I really do love those rugs...just the ones I've seen at the size we need are just not in our price range at the moment. At least not in appropriate colors. No thanks on the lime green rug! And though brown is one of my favorite colors, it doesn't really go with the room There's a lime green flokati and a cocoa brown flokati at Target (web) for $200, which is a good price but wrong for my room. If you can find me a gray or black or even blue (though itll be mighty hard to match up those blues) 8x11 one for that price...let me know!
