"Gephardt defeats Edwards!"
Posted by Estee on 07-06-04 at 06:36 PM
We're used to taking the New York Post with a grain/shaker/mine of salt around here, but this one -- well, y'might say it was almost historic. The front page of today's Post, in an exclusive story to be found in no other paper, revealed that Kerry had chosen Gephardt as his running mate. Big headline. Color picture. A few tens of thousands printed, minimum.Oops?

Please qualify, at all times, the name of that publication with its home city. The front page of the Post said nothing about any such thing; the way the New York Post looked can be found here. We're just a little sensitive about that whole Post thing around here. The good news is that we're happy to give New York an exclusive on the Times.

I understand your concerns and will make sure to have Gephardt address them during the debates. (Are you sure you don't want the Times to yourself? Never, ever trust a paper without a comics section.)

The local namesake has a really crummy comics section. But in an historic first, I do share your concern about the NYT.

LAST EDITED ON 07-06-04 AT 07:09 PM (EST)I particularly like the pic where it appears that Kerry is about to plant a wet one on Gephardt's lips and seems like his hand's straying somewhere else as well...

How embarrassing can it be for them.
