I think there are valid differences of opinion on how we are conducting ourselves in Iraq and what we need to do in the future. I think it important for the American people to hear discussion of those opinions, and to keep those opinions in mind when making a decision this fall. The notion that airing these opinions will give "aid and comfort to the enemy" or demoralize our soldiers is carp. Our soldiers know what a mess they are in. It might do them good to hear that mess being acknowledged. This piece from Lieberman just confirms my feelings that he is in the wrong political party.

What I got from his comment "there are other things Kerry can attack Bush on" is that part of the 'discussion' is partisan politics...which I think is reprehensible from any party. I'm glad to see a recognized name in Washington call it out. I agree with you that discussion that isn't slinging wet dirt is an important component/duty for our appointed leaders.

I guess I would like to see both sides talk about the economy, jobs, etc. and enough with mud-slinging about the war already, and enough about Vietnam already too, sheesh.

This is all just reminding me of Bush #41.

"It's the economy, stupid"

ETA: plus Lieberman did say-
"Republicans and Democrats should continue to disagree and debate many Iraq policy questions, including the cost, international participation and the transfer of authority to a new Iraqi government."

Lieberman makes a heck of a lot more sense than the other Democrat candidates did. Even if he did star in ALF.

And he sounds even more like Willie than he looks!

Hey Willie... NO PROBLEM...

HA!

ALF... wow... I loved that show...

A shame that Max Wright, the guy who played Willie, got busted at an orgy inhaling crack-smoke from his lover's mouth.
