Everyone's always speculated on all these shows that the producers have the "selector" (be it a bachelor/bachelorette, the Donald, etc.) keep colorful people on the show far beyond their welcome, if they enhance ratings(or other reasons). So, perhaps in this case, Anna was told that the producers were selecting certain men to be eliminated. I don't think she was particularly invested in any of the men she did eliminate although I do think she was touched by Nathan's letter. But the producers knew the premise of having makeovers when they chose the average Joes. So, I'm sure they had certain types in mind. They may have even reviewed the men with doctors, dentists, etc. I would think that the makeover plan for each man would have had to be devised in advance. While I know this is great publicity, big chunks of time had to be made in each of these professionals' schedules. So I don't think that each man was just plucked off the bus.
I'm looking forward to hearing from the Joes after the show to find out if they knew about potential makeovers when they signed up. If Anna had really liked one that they told her was being eliminated, maybe she was told that the twists would surprise her, too. This discussion has been alluded to in several threads and I thought we could consolidate it here.

A Cyg original
I think the producers gave the makeovers to whomever they thought took the most humiliation and abuse, from the hunks. The poor Joes feel so bad when they leave they have to do something to get their spirits back up !
They should all get makeovers ......
The hunks don't need em.....
I can't imagine giving Producers that much credit. I see them sitting down and trying to determine what would give the most controversial and shocking excitement so they can collect their salary and try to come up with something even more controversial.
I'm not sure. I would think they'd want to see them in action first.

Thanks Seana... how sweet, Love my sig pic!
I correctly predicted Dante to go in round three. The producers have shown a pattern. They keep the most colorful ones around til they deem it most appropriate. That being said, if Anna wanted to keep Dante around I don't think they would've stopped her. I do believe however that they had some input into when certain guys exit. Just like the previous seasons...no different here. For instance I couldn't believe David Daschal made it as far as he did. He was eliminated the same round as Dante. Seriously, if you find a David or Dante you don't want them to go in the first week. You want them to stick around for a while. At the same time I don't believe that the girl would pick either and would probably eliminate each in the first round. They would never admit this but I am sure the producers positioned the Joes so that they had good makeover candidates.
