"Larissa Is An Employee Of Donald Trump"

Posted by Howard Dean on 02-17-04 at 03:19 PM

Larissa is the publicity face of Donald's Taj Mahal Casino in New Jersey. Trump also owns Miss USA and Miss Universe.

Larissa was a contestant in Miss USA.. Trump saw her after she had been a semi-finalist there and later hired her at the casino.

Trump does business with NBC ... Miss USA, Miss Universe, The Apprentice, etc.

So it's probably no coincidence that both girls on Average Joe are former Miss USA contestants.

If some of us question the things that Larissa does on Average Joe and wonder if she is acting, there is probably good reason.

Not that Trump tells her what to do on the show -- far from it -- but there is good reason to suspect that her first consideration is doing what she thinks she ought to do on the show in order to advance her career.

I've given her the benefit of the doubt up to this point, but after Tony's ejection, I've joined those who suspect that Larissa is more or less an actress playing a role.

I honestly don't get why everyone is so surprised at Tony getting the boot. Tony had NO personality. He is not exactly a barrel of laughs.

Sharing a career interest with someone is not enough to base a relationship on. Haven't you ever had a good first date with someone and then realized that there was nothing there beyond that after spending more time with them?

He is boring. He has underlying anger issues. He has a huge chip on his shoulder. He looked to be on the verge of tears several times. He uses "creative facial hair" to attract women. These are not traits that most chicks dig. Whether they are beauty pagent contestants or not.

Art is more than a career interest. It is a passion and a way of life. Also, I think you *way* overstate what you consider to be the negative aspects of Tony's personality.

But the key issue here is that what Larissa is doing on this show is going to be unpredictable as long as we *only* consider love as her motivation. She is in show business and has a keen awareness that what she does here will effect her career. It would be naive to think otherwise.

I mean the man shaves shapes into his beard for god's sake......he looks like an idiot! When the "bomb" went off under the boat he was more interested in saving the horrible painting than helping poor Larissa back to shore....

I work in advertising - I'm surrounded by over 60 graphic artists every day (which is what Tony's profession is). I'm also a writer - it is a passion - but it also my career. So I'm pretty sure I understand the way art and commerce co-exist and collide.

Two similarly inclined creative professionals have a hard time of it. Professionally jealousy and competition, artisitic temperments and many other factors make it difficult for a relationship to work. I wouldn't date another writer ever again - and two artists together would be just as bad if not worse.

I don't think I overstated Tony's negative traits at all. He is dull. He is whiney. He is humorless, and he is defensive. All as evidenced by his behavior on the show. Out of the three Average Joes left, he was by far the least appealing - based on looks, personality and compatibility with Larissa. Period.

I realize that you have been cheering for him from the beginning. I don't expect you to agree with me.

And I think anyone looking for love on a reality tv show has questionable motivations. Not just Larissa.

My wife and I were not surprised that Tony left yesterday. He had no humor. He was humorless.

She just didn't laugh with him.

Even she said that she had gotten past the boat incident, and that he was still angry about it.

That appeared real to us.

"Larissa a model"

I was recently in Arizona having pictures taken at a Sears Photo session. GUESS WHO WAS ONE OF THE MODELS ON A PROOF SHEET? none other than our own Larissa Meek. The girls at Sears didn't know much about the proof sheet other than it was an old one, meaning they got it about a year ago. Larissa is hugging some guy (her stomach to his back). She is wearing a black sweater, and her hair is WAY longer than it is in the series.

Sorry, first time poster, not sure where this information fit, if anywhere but this seemed like a good place. Also, please note that the same proof sheets are used in ALL Sears portrait studios, so, you can check it out for yourself, if you so desire.

Welcome to Survivor Blows dawsonleery! We don't flame too much!! But just in case, flame retardant goggles and a good sense of humor are advised.

Interesting info about Larissa. I have said for a while that this show was just a job interview for her.

I *still* think that the following things are significant:

(1) Larissa is the publicity face of Donald's Taj Mahal Casino in New Jersey. Trump also owns Miss USA and Miss Universe.

(2) Larissa was a contestant in Miss USA.. Trump saw her after she had been a semi-finalist there and later hired her at the casino.

(3) Trump does business with NBC ... Miss USA, Miss Universe, The Apprentice, etc. So it's probably no coincidence that both girls on Average Joe are former Miss USA contestants.

(4) There is good reason to suspect that Larissa's first consideration is doing what she thinks she ought to do on the show in order to advance her career.

I'd still be interested in hearing what other posters have to say regarding the above.

It does kind of seem like a conflict of interests to have an employee as the star of the show. Especially seeing how awfully she behaved in the first episode. People don't just have a change of heart that fast. One minute she's ranting about these nerds, the next she's making out with them? It makes me suspicious. And of course I believe furthering her career is her first priority. However, if she is trying to get serious with an AJ I think that Larissa was just over her infatuation with Tony. Every time the guys were together at their house he was off to the side just looking scary. He was just too intense. I've dated intense guys and honestly, they're creepy! She was begining to get a look at his creepy side. I was not surprised to see him go. Sad for him, but not surprised.

Hmm. I never noticed that. Can you give me an example of when that happened? I certainly don't remember that from early in the series. He was one of the first guys to approach her.

He did always approach her, but it just seemed to me that he wasn't much into the male bonding thing. There was one scene last night where the men were talking about something, I think it was the anticipation of meeting Mrs. Meek, and he was kind of observing from the outside. I noticed that in a couple of previous shows too. Maybe he felt he didn't fit in? Let's face it, he's obviously the smartest one there. I liked Tony a lot. I felt so sorry for him at the end of the show! I think she did him a favor by letting him go. Maybe saying he looked scary wasn't the right way to put it. He certainly isn't unattractive, just unusual looking.

Larissa is a DAW. Everything she does is about getting more face time. She is not in this for a "lifetime commitment" unless that commitment is Mr. Trump signing a lifetime TV contract or another big deal.

Brian Worth is going to be crushed. He seems to be a nice guy who is way out of his league, I wish he'd been in the sub with Fredo.

Did anyone else notice that the hunks got dates on private beaches in private places and the average Joe's dates were in public places (golf/tennis club and botanical gardens)? That was a really nice way to compare.
