"Why Did The Producers Cast Ultra Nerds This Time ???"

OK, we all agreed on another thread that the guys this time around aren't just average, they're wierd! The question is why? Why did the producers choose to cast such "freaks of nature," instead of just average guys?I think the answer is that the producers wanted conflict.
They wanted to draw a sharp contrast between all the nerds who are here now and the jocks who will be arriving soon.They wanted to set up huge confrontations, even fights. Including the boxing match that we saw in the previews.
They wanted scenes like this:
Nerd: You're acting like you think you're above me.
Jock: I do.Personally (as another poster said), I would much rather see Larissa chose between average guys with personality and good looking guys with no personality. That's more interesting to me.
But I think the producers had "drama" (Jerry Springer style) in mind, because they think that's what gets ratings.
What do all of you think?

I agree about the producers wanting drama.I think the producers realized that the premise of the show didn't really work the first time, so they went for more exaggerated personalities and looks to try to make this one interesting in a different way.

Another thing I'm reading in a lot of these threads is ... ok so these guys are way below average on looks .. but maybe some real personalities will come out when they are alone with Larissa.One can always hope. Hope springs eternal. Without hope like that probably no one -- or at least very few people -- would watch this show!
