Hello cyber people. My friend is a big fan of this message board and has been talking to everybody with the Kingkida moniker. He pressured me into writing a little hello to you fine people, so anyway... hello, my name is Lance Krall and I play Kip on Joe Schmo. I just wanted to say thanks for watching the show and posting your thoughts. I haven't read that many of them because I am afraid that my fragile ego may be crushed by your potential criticism, so I just imagine that all of your feedback is GLOWING! Seriously though, thanks again for watching and I hope that we did a decent job at making you laugh.Lance
Oh yeah, if you want to insult me personally, please visit www.lancekrall.com and toss me a note. Thanks again. BTW, I thought tonight's episode was the funniest yet. Poor Brian and his "man #####."GOOD LORD
Lance you are hysterical!!!!!! My husband and I just love "Kip". You by far had the hardest role to play. We both agreed that you deserve an emmy!!!! I hope you are bombarded with offers after the show. Do you have a fan website so that we can keep track? Thanks again for your amazing work on the show!!!!
glad you decided to start posting out in the open! It's good to have you with us - hope you stick around.
can you tell us if there is a live show or not
You engage this guy without a second thought that he may not be Kip/Lance? Why?![]()
You sound awfully like Guppin1233 to me!
The one and only. You can't post under multiple screen names in this forum can you? You only have one net address right?

If you look at his very first post, he mentions that he was on the show, but did not want to tell us who he was yet. The very first thing that I did when I got my pass word was to check his profile. So, I believe that he is Lance.
Edited to add:
Lance, I am glad that you decided to come out of the closet!
Woohoo! We always enjoy having the folks involved with these shows join our little party. Welcome!

Hi Kip! I love you on the show. You're my fave character. Loved you last night with your BMW analogyIt was hilarious last night when they blurred out Brian's man boobs. LOL

I hate that Spike is promo'ing (ruining) all of the suprises as much as you guys. I guess the point is not really who gets voted off, but how Matt reacts to everything. Still though... You guys are going to love how this all ends.Lance
PS: thanks for all the compliments!

"You guys are going to love how this all ends"I am really glad you said that. I was a little worried that this was going to end badly.

Hi, Lance. Thank you for stopping by to say hello to the Schmo fans. You are hilarious on the show and I wish you much success in your career. I'm glad to hear the show has a good ending. Can you give us any hints?...Siren
Pretty please??
Wait a minute ... you just spent 10 days telling a great big lie to a some poor schmoe (my spelling of the word) and now you want us to believe you're Kip?OK, you may be Kip. I think you're great if you are.
"Does that scrash mean you total your car?"
I don't want to ruin the end for you all! As far as me saying that you are going to love how it ends, that doesn't necessarily mean that he gets the money. It just means that you are going to love how it ends. Put it this way, you will not be disappointed. Damn.... I'm going to get in trouble guys! Stop it!Side note.... I hope they make a DVD of this show because there is soooo much funny material that got cut out. The cast got together last night to watch the show and we were like "Oh no! What happened to that scene!" It must have been a ##### to edit this thing though. Mad props to the post production folks at Stone Stanley.

Since you've spoken to the cast, hopefully you can answer something a lot of people would (probably) like to know. There's been speculation that the only communication to Matt was 'Earl' looking for a watch he left at the house. That would be a bit surprising since it seemed like most/all of you were impressed with Matt, if not a bit bonded to him for 'real'.1-Can you confirm/deny what level of honest feelings you guys had for him, and whether or not there's been any attempt to get in touch?
2-What are the feelings experienced when watching it in hindsight? Any remorse, or would you have done anything differently?
3-Have you heard any whispers on a DVD?? That would be a keeper!Hopefully you can speak freely on that without giving up the ending...
Thanks,
jimboPS-You get my vote for acting performance of the year! Must have been tough...
1 Confirm. We all love this guy. The night Earl left and Matt broke down was incredibly difficult for everyone, as I am sure you saw. As far as if we have talked to him since... I can't really say. The Earl story is bogus, that much I can tell you. Frank (Earl) would never leave anything behind. He is too disciplined! He really is an ex-Marine, sniper, bar brawler, overall bad ass. He was so cool to meet.2 I love watching it! I am hooked! No regrets at all. I guess in hindsight, I wish I could have made some bolder comedic choices in the earlier episodes, but everyone had to be so careful the first couple of days keeping it real that it was hard to turn up the comedy dial too high.
3 No whispers on a DVD yet, but the show is really doing well, so maybe. I sure hope so! I miss some of those deleted scenes! My bad magic act was about five minutes longer than it was on TV, and it was sooo painful to watch. I messed up about four tricks before I got to the cards, and Hutch was heckling me the whole time. It was so hard not to laugh... wait, I did. oops. Oh yeah, Molly breasts came all the way out of her suit in the next episode, and I am pretty darn sure that will be cat out as well. Ahhh, the perks of being an actor....
I've only seen one episode of Schmo but the one I did see what with the "talent show" and you doing the magic tricks. I spent 7 years being a magicians assistant and watching you do the rope trick had me rolling with laughter. Then the card trick thing, hitting the card over and over and then telling him, okay loosen your fingers just a little...bwhahahaha! I'm sorry for laughing if you were really trying to do the trick properly, but it was ever so much funnier the way you did it.Thanks for the laughs!
--will try to catch another episode of Schmo
How cool that you are posting on this board! Gotta tell you, I love the show and you are my fave character on the show! Thank you for giving us some behind the scenes scoops and I can't wait to see how this all plays out!P.S. - I went to your website and it is great! I LOVED the OJ Interview clip! You are hilarious! Thanks for the link!

MM Why do we kill people who kill people to show that killing people is wrong?
Big fan of the show, and your work!Keep us informed with your career progress--we've heard about "The Hutch"'s success.
Hey Lance! Its great that you're posting here, and barely anyone has questioned if you're the real deal or not, such nice people here. Hopefully there will be a DVD of all the episodes, it'd probably sell real well, the show is one you can watch again and again and again and not get tired of it..
Lance ----------you make me laugh so hard i pee my pants ---i watch you some times 3 times a week just to see your eyes and how much you make me laugh -----------much love and where have you been --------------- mary lou davis
Hey folks, I wanted to personally say thanks to everybody, so please visit www.lancekrall.com and click on Fan Mail Video.
You guys are awesome.

Lance,I love the FAN MAIL video! I find myself in the same situation sometimes, being straight and trying to explain my gay friends to others.
You are great at your part and the site is also great.
Thanks for all the entertaiment.

Lance, that was TOOOO funny. Thanks for clearing that up. But it doesn't answer one question... are you gay, or aren't you?-belant <--- ducking

Lance...
Loved the Ahhnold electrocution imitation. That was the funniest thing I've seen and has been my favorite scene so far in the show.

To prove to those who don't believe it's you that it is, can you put something on your web site to prove it? Like maybe the word "steamroller"?
ahhh, no, sorry. It's totally okay if you don't think that this is me. It's a free country...
I did put a fan mail video up for you guys though. It's good and stupid.
Me
Yeah, see... kingkida wouldn't put the marker (steamroller) in for us. Probably not Lance. How pathetic, why fake it?
Actually "Lance", you have provided a marker for Matt when you finally tell him what has been going on with the show in the end.You have brought a lot of improv to the show and imagination. When you drop the accent and the act for Matt, it will give him a definite wake up call.
good yob mhaaan!
LAST EDITED ON 10-05-03 AT 06:09 PM (EST)I just check out your website and it was hillarious. Kip is one of my favourite characters. You are quite a talented actor, all the cast on Joe Schmo are.
I was just wondering if any of you were worried that Matt G. Would recognize you?
David (Hutch) was really worried. He was on several episodes of Six Feet Under, which happened to be Matt's favorite show! He was ready to say something like "Yeah, I get that all the time" or something like that. Fortunately, he looks very different with a goatee. We all met David when he had his facial hair, and when the show wrapped, he shaved it off and it really freaked everybody out. He looks soo different! Thanks for the compliments!
Lance
ahah it's really cool that you came here, I registered just to ask you this question: Did you make up that BMW thing on the spot or was that something you heard before? it was HILARIOUS I laugh every time I think about it..
To be honest, I made it up. I get made fun of by my friends constantly for overusing analogies. I love using them! So much so that my friends are damn sick of it. They all died when they saw me doing it in the show. I got so many e-mails from them, railing me for it.
RIP KIP! Oh NO! I was so bummed to see you get the boot!!!I have to ask though, seeing as you admitted to making up the BMW analogy on the fly, did you also make up the castle, queen, princess, knight, dragon thing on the spot too? Or was that scripted? Either way, what a hoot!
I LOVED tonights episode! Your attempts at wasting time during the immunity challenge just made me ROFLOL! I bet you could have #####-slapped that model for saying "is this for real?" though! LOL! You all looked like deer caught in the headlights!
Lance, I hope you stick around these boards after Schmo and let us know any upcoming film or tv work you have going on. I, for one, will be sure to tune in!

MM Why do we kill people who kill people to show that killing people is wrong?
I have a new favorite Kip moment. As funny as the bad magic was (and I was rolling during that one), just watching you walk around in the life preserver and water wings was a riot!
We really do have guidelines here. Believe it or not, the Guidelines make things more fun. Really.
Lance,
Are you going to be doing any theater or improv where we could watch you perform live? I love your water wing act tonight!
If you noticed, my plate didn't break tonight. Ralph threw it in the fire, but it just clanged around. Not a scratch! I have it in my china cabinet at my apartment. Do you think I could get some decent scratch for it on eBay? I have a pretty bad crack habit to support.
Don't know how much you could get for it just the way it is, people might not believe its the 'real deal', so maybe sign it or something..
I thought tonight was the best episode and you(Kip) were the funniest yet. The ahhnold thing was my favorite moment until the feeble bellyflops into the pool. Hilarious. Now back to the plate...could this be a twist...if it don't break, you're not really out of the game???

LAST EDITED ON 10-08-03 AT 02:30 AM (EST)Just got back from watching the show with the director, Danny, and one of the producers, Anthony. Too funny! Even though we know everything that is about to happen, we are all still rolling with laughter. It is such an honor to be a part of this risky experiment.
We all talked about the possibility of a DVD with extended scenes, deleted scenes, actor auditions, etc.... It seems to all of us to be a no brainer.
As far as my plate is concerned, I am kidding about wanting to sell it. It is going to be one of those objects that I will look back on when I am 70 years old and go, what the hell was I doing?
Lance
Hugs, not drugs!
Oh man I would buy a dvd set the day it's released, especially if it had extra scenes!
I don't know how you guys keep it together when the cameras are on! Cool that your plate didn't break but how hilarious is the Hutch's plate?? All glued back together and he's got that total jerk look on his face?!? Brilliant! Honestly, the previews for the show before it started were mildly interesting, but once I saw the first episode, I was comitted to see it through to the ending. This is the only show on television I make an effort to watch. Glad you're getting some attetion for this, hope it's the springboard for a long and successful carreer.
> If you noticed, my plate didn't break tonight.I did. I also noticed that Molly just walked off with hers...scripted?
By the way, my wife and I will miss you. You were easily our favorite contestant. Though I must say, half the fun for me was knowing how hard of a time you must have had keeping your eyes from betraying your orientation ;).
Of course it was scripted... it was part of the whole Molly+Ralph thing...
Well, first a compliment.
And I'm not just saying this because you're here....You are incredibly talented and by far the most entertaining character on the show. I wish you all the best.
In the gross food competition, it was alluded to (but we weren't told outright) that the food you (the actors) had to eat wasn't REALLY what Matt thought it was.
Was it just tasty food made to look bad and you acted the gagging? Or were you really eating those awful things?I think you're destined for greatness bro.
How can I get an autographed photo??Dan
Welcome to the boards..There is a fake food thread on the front page where Kip(Lance) answers your question. The food was fake.
A 2003 RolldDice Original
I'm sorry, I did see that post, but too late.
I just wanted to say Lance, that you have done a GREAT job on the show!!! You have made my husband and I laugh quite hard over the past few weeks...Good Luck in your next venture!!!!
Love the show. Kip you're hilarious. All the best for continued success!
"Collector's plate"... "you are dead to us now" This stuff slays me. I haven't enjoyed a show this much in.... ever.
Thanks for the great TV!
LAST EDITED ON 10-08-03 AT 08:01 PM (EST)Hi cyber Lance! Greeting from Al-fretta.
The Ricky Ricardo accent you used for Kip just killed me! Hilarious! I was dying for Kip to look at the camera and yell, "Babaloo!" just once.
Was it hard to stay "in accent" the whole time or did you start speaking with a Cuban accent while out of character, too?
You were great as Kip! I will miss him on the show. Cool website, too.
Thanks for popping in and saying hi to us.
Kip here...Wow, thanks so much for the nice words everybody. I really had no idea how people would react to the show, or my character. Got to admit that I am a bit bummed that it is almost over. It's fun to be able to watch your own dumb ass on national television. It is so interesting to read how almost everybody's perception of the show has changed since the first week. You guys are going through the same journey that we, the actors, went through. At first, Joe Schmo was just some fun gig, not too heavy, even stupid at times. Things changed so quickly in a matter of days, and we all became incredibly invested in Matt and the show. It became something that we wanted to be proud of.
As far as what's next for me... I am pitching a 30 minute comedy to a few production companies and networks in the next couple of weeks. The show is really funny, but unconventional. We'll see if it hits! Some members of the Joe Schmo cast may be involved as well. Other than that, I'm just getting ready to do some Scuba diving with my dad in Cabo San Lucas. Can't wait to see some hammerheads!
If you want to contact me personally, just go to www.lancekrall.com and send me a message! I should be updating the site with some new shorts and other bits and pieces to help you laugh while you're at work.
By the way, if you live in LA, you need to go see Dr. Pat (Kristen) at the Groundlings on Sunday nights. She is f'ing hilarious!
Lance
Lance,Good luck with the show pitch. At the risk of getting stuck in a role, I’d love to see a show with Kip in the future. Maybe a little Kip & Hutch detective team...HA!
Few questions for you, if you have the time…Do you know if the Schmo production team has any plans in the works for another one??
Do you think it even could be done again now that many potentials will know about JS?
Why wasn’t there much shown in the way of voting banter, either strategy among players before or explanations of votes after?
There’s been a lot of speculation around here that the voting doesn’t make sense based on who’s left. For example, I think someone figured out that Brian would have to have voted for Molly and Molly for Kip (by deduction, of course they aren’t actually doing the voting). Neither one of those make much sense and with Matt and Brian being ‘buddies’, I would think it would come up in conversation.jimbo
As far as another Joe Schmo, I think that they want to do another, but I'm not sure if they are going to use the same actors or not. They may do a Joe Mill and go to Europe. Just speculation on my part.As far as the voting banter, I think that it was cut because it was not as interesting as the rest of the footage. We talked about it a little to Matt, but as the end drew closer, we all pretended to keep our voting strategy a little more secret. As far as voting off Molly and Kip, the cast's excuse was to keep Ashleigh there because they knew she would be voted off eventually. Sort of like a bird in hand if you will. Even though Molly and Kip were very likable, they were a potential threat for the very same reason. Ashleigh was a given that she wasn't going to win, so why not keep her a bit longer?
Hope that clears things up!
Lance
Good luck with the comedy picth, I know lots of people would love to watch thatFunny you mentioned Eurpoe Lance, I was talking with my family that they would only be able to do the same thing again if they went to Europe.
Have fun scuba diving! Hammerheads are great ^_^ I've never been scuba diving before, but I have swam with leopard sharks in Cali when I went to visit my uncle and aunt there. The sharks come up so close to the shore! But Leopard sharks are nothing compared to hammerheads, they are just so gracefull the way they swim..
They wouldn't have to go to Europe. Just change the scenario, like in an office setting, or in a college classroom, restaurant, or fake game show... the list goes on.
but not many people would want to be on a show in an office setting.. A college classroom also may be rather boring.. Well I guess it depends on the type of classroom and office..The restaurant or fake game show would work real well though... Maybe a spoof on the price is right?
Office setting: Say send them off on a corporate retreat and have some schmo fun there.College Classroom: Say psych 101, they have to go to an "institution" and counsel schmo people.
Just a thought.
they allready made another one in windy city heat, but that was filmed ether at the same time or before. i would'nt be suprised if stone stanely did'nt make 2 more before joe schmo aired. but they will not be able to do it anymore. anyway windy city heat starts sun on the comedy ch at 9 pm
