"This is a great site"

For sociological purposes this is a great site!

Since discovering it I have been breathlessly cautioned on three occassions, by fellow posters, that, great clalamity of calamities - I may soon be banned from the site.

I have had the joy of being called "dude" or better yet "sparky" many times. I can't help but wonder if those who utter such phrases feel the same sense of media generated "hippness" that I do when blessed with such a term of endearment. Thanks dudes!

Somewhere in America, I actually broke up an early morning "business meeting" today when one its principals felt compelled to respond more completely to what I considered a light hearted posting. The picture of that person making notes on how to best respond, all the while oblivious to the meeting going on around her is simply adorable.

If Marshall McLuhan was right and television programming is designed to appeal to the lowest common denominator, then this site is the cyber equivalent of an intellectual ant farm. I read your posts with the same child-like wonder one reserves for such exhibits.

It is great fun mingling with the masses. I am gleaning a better understanding of your opium induced trance with each passing day!

Thanks

I think that was a very well written and thoughtful post Vernon. Don't listen to anybody on this site giving you shi* about what you want to write. I personally believe that most, if not all, of your insights are quite valid, and if your intellect is too much for my fellow post hounds to handle, then their loss. I, myself enjoy pouring wax on my lower extremities while reading your thoughts on Joe Schmo. I guess I could say that your brain turns me on, and I'm sure that you are a swell looker too. In fact, I had a dream about you the other night. You and I were on The Joe Schmo Show. The mansion caught fire and you were rescuing me. You later told me that it symbolized the fall of Tibet. We then went for a swim in the pool, which was an obvious metaphor for the closing of our borders to immigrants, duh! The dream ended with you and I voting off Nancy Reagan in matching thongs. Not quite sure what that meant, but I hope that you will decipher that for me a well.

You are an intellectual inspiration to us all.

If you're going to act intellectually superior, you may want to proofread your post to avoid misspelled words. Just saying.

Other than that, I can't argue with a single piece of your logic. Your insight knows no bounds.

And yes, this IS a great site. Once you're gone from here you may realize how good.

You see vernon, if you had actually displayed this much self awareness and humor from the beginning of your tenure in our little ant farm, you might not be having the reception you are now.

Once again, rather than refute anything I said or answer anything I asked, you took great care and time to craft a snarky little response full of insults and completely devoid of anything resembling, I dunno, relevant content.

Did you anticipate that we would all throw flowers at your feet and annoint your head with oil for showing us the way and truth and light? You sure get all testy if people don't agree with you.

If you are gonna post something so ridiculous, poorly conceived and completely full of holes as your Iraqi thing, people are going to challenge you. And why do you care if we believe you or not? I just don't get that at all.

I'm sure that my drab, lifeless corporate existance amuses you. And I'm sure you are all atwitter at getting a chance to throw a few insults my way. That's fine. I dished it out, I'm more than willing to take it. But all you've done is thrown out lame insults. What exactly did that accomplish?

You've based every post on the fact that you've taken some course at some point in your no doubt illustrious and long scholastic career that has brought you to the inescapable conclusion that the producers of this reality TV show are all laughing at us and our obtuseness.

Let me break this down for you again ok? You can continue to believe that this is the producers trying to subliminally point out the scam of the Iraqi war and we won't stop you. We won't believe you, but we won't stop you either.

You can continue to say that Joe is in fact an actor that is in on the whole thing. Some people will agree and some people won't. You can continue to debate that on here to your heart's content. I personally could not possibly care less if he knows or not, although I do not believe that he does.

But what you can't do - as so many people have pointed out with far more patience and restraint than I can muster - is personally attack other posters. You can think I'm a moron or a b!tch or whatever, but you can't post it. It's really just that simple. And someone as smart and hip and cool as you ought to be able to grasp that.

Look, I'm not a moderator here. And I don't care if you stay or go. But if you are going to be a member of the community, the mods will make you follow the rules. Three moderators have tried to encourage you and help you navigate the forum without getting yourself banned.

If you don't care whether or not you're banned, more power to you. I enjoy seeing people go out in flames on here – especially psuedo intellectual elitist snobs who over estimate their own intelligence while underestimating that of everyone else.

Honestly, I've wasted more than enough time on this and on you.

Vern, or Carlos, or whichever Toronto Blue Jay you're going to pick for your next attempt to register...

Just wanted to let you know that the webmaster can track down when banned posters try to register new IDs, so hope you weren't planning to stick around long.

Poho on P-Ho...well, that's a lovely image to ponder on another forum, isn't it?

Actually, I'd love to see you on Schmo. You'd look at these "actors" and ask them WTF they've been smoking.

At least, that's what I'd expect you to do after your assertiveness training.

Isn't it ironic that the posters who claim not to care if they get banned are the first ones back after it happens.

Shakes the Clown seems to be dead unless he signed on under another handle. If he did, then he's managed to tone it down a little as his style is quite obvious.

Nah....I figure Shakes is sitting in his bungalow on a little island in Mexico waiting to be brought in as the final judge on P-HO hotel.

I wonder if they have a role for him on Schmoe...

You can grab some sociology tidbits out of the unfavorable reviews as well.

I can't help but think of the scene in Austin Powers when he's re-born in a huge petree dish filled with pink goo. Anyone remotely associated with reality TV is in the dish, it's like the network marketing people have their own personal little petrie dishes full of free feedback. They don't care, they'll take whatever they can get.

But why take it so seriously so as to interrupt a meeting a work?

vernonwells,

I just wanted to tell you I have been scanning this board for months and you are the most interesting and intelligent person to have visited.

I never felt the urge to post a message myself until now. Do not let these nit wits bother you. They are small and have boring lives.

Remember what happened to Jesus? You too are a prophet ahead of his time. Thank you for your many thought provoking messages.

Vernon/Carlos/Doug, etc.

Just so you know - a large number of the posters on these forums, including the moderators, participate in a number of fantasy sports leagues. So rest assured, your duplicate ID's are being rounded up and disabled.

I was wondering if you are looking for a job, because if you are perhaps vernonwells needs a toady. C'mon, you can't seriously be impressed that easily.

I can't imagine scanning a board such as this one for months, never posting, only reading others trivial thoughts, until your messiah arrived. I draw no conclusions from that information; I just offer that I can think of little else that I would rather not do with my time on the Internet.

Neffer:

I do scan these boards for information on some of the shows. Sorry if I sound boring, but thats me and, no I can assure you I am not looking for work.

I just found vernonwells writings to be quite remarkable. I do not understand why you eat your intelligent on this board.

And no, Doug Ault is not a baseball player. It is the name of a 16th century political theorist. I thought vernonwells might appreciate the reference.

>But why take it so seriously

No one is interrupting work to worry about Joe effing Schmo. I didn't get a chance to reply to an earlier post because I had to go into a meeting at work. I mentioned that when I finally got a chance to reply. Vernon and his doppelganger spun it just a bit. He's got an active imagination.

And since i"m now staying late since I spent too much time on the boards and not enough time doing my job today, I will gladly bid this mess adieu.

And I'm totally semi serious this time.
