Each morning he met with Paul and Rhett and went over the details and the three of them decided plot turns. But make no mistake about it this show was Matt's baby right from the start. He shopped it around for about 10 months before he found Paul and Rhett.
He is a regular guy and he did drop out of law school last January to focus on the show. Nobody, production crew or otherwise had a clue except Paul, Rhett and Matt.
There are many reasons why I am leaking this, but to expand would reveal my identity.

Hey Woe! Have you noticed all the people who are so sure Matt is an actor think the rest of us are so sure he's not? Just because I THINK he's not, doesn't mean that I don't wonder if he is. If I said, "He is definitely not" or "No way he is" than I could understand being considered 'dumb' or 'stubborn' or 'duped'. But I think most of us wonder whether he is or not even though we think and hope he really is for real. Only because I don't think any of us would like the ending to be so easily guessed. You know what I mean? Because if he's not an actor we don't know how he is going to react. If he is, we have a pretty good idea. And what a buzz kill....But I'm from Pittsburgh!

After watching the marathon over the weekend I am willing to concede that I could be wrong and he could be the one who came up with the idea.
Besides his and the fake producers use of the term "cast" there were a few times during the eviction ceremonies where it looked like he was trying really hard not to laugh. There were a few other things as well that kind of made me entertain the possibilty that I could be wrong but at the moment I can't remember for the life of me what they were.
I still think he is a regular schmo who is sincere in his values and overall sweetness and if it turns out it was his idea I won't feel duped or angry at all since I was along for the very entertaining ride without being coerced into it. That is, after all, the reason I watched-to be entertained.
More power to him!!! He still rocks.

The way this particular thread is really, really wide, wider than normal. It's either programming or a quirk. The message boards were closed for maint last week not for too long, and they never explained why, just emergency maint.

IF this is true, then I’d think Matt has a bright future in pseudo-reality TV. I will say that his attendance at the GQ awards shows he’s not a lifelong hater of all things Spike (unless for some reason it was contractual that he appear).Personally, I think someone with that theory just created a screen name to have a nice laugh of a thread. The statement, “There are many reasons why I am leaking this, but to expand would reveal my identity” doesn’t seem to make sense. By now, everyone on the inside knows the finale and would be able to give some tidbit of ‘proof’ about their authority in the subject without revealing their identity.
I will say that a lot of the ‘Matt knows’ evidence fits with this revelation. As for the actors that have been going around talking about Matt as if he really was oblivious, we have to remember THEY’RE ACTORS. Also, the Kipster didn’t really deny it! Come on Lance, help us out here…
My #1 reason for giving this some ounce of potential is the very first show. We all know by know what kind of guy Matt is, or wants us to think he is. He’s usually kindhearted unless provoked, yet when they were first all on the steps Matt asks Kip “you’re gay, right?” That has always troubled me as completely out of character for him, yet it would fit with this little theory…hmmm.

Why is that interesting in any way? It might have been interesting as a joke on the actors if it was revealed to the audience at the beginning, but not the end.
There is no twist like that simply because the show is more interesting without it, and it is unnecessary.
This makes a lot of sense.In the opening credits and throughout the game, Brian is referred to as "The Buddy" archetype.
What if the show had started out and Matt didn't end up like Brian as a buddy? What if they casted "the buddy" and he wasn't compatible with Matt? It's good luck that they did bond and got along. And it's good luck the show came down to the two of them (and Hutch).
It's also good luck that the buddy character is a writer on the show.
And for all of us, it'ss good luck they blurred out his man boobs.
I seem to be having a terrible time posting right now - I may be too tired. But I had a great argument planned out earlier today.
I believe that Matt is the creator of this show and Brian is probably a co-creator type person.
I've known from the start that there was a twist not being revealed and that it was going to be fun trying to figure it out. I've enjoyed it - and I'm going to miss it when it's over.
