LAST EDITED ON 11-30-14 AT 11:25 PM (EST)The surfers are CBS's darlings this season. They are the only team highlighted EVERY time I bring up a CBS show on On Demand.
It seems strange that they suddenly decided to look at the FF option on the boat. The dentists knew it was surfing challenge and didn't say a word. I'm wondering if production did anything to make them suddenly curious as to what it was.
LAST EDITED ON 12-02-14 AT 02:25 PM (EST)It's true though. The show and what you see is entirely unrehearsed more than two or three times, and production acts strickly as event recorders and do not influence the racers in any way whatsoever.
OK, there is a script, but so what? Even though the racers are speaking lines, they are real people, right? For the most part? That is reality, Bub.
OK, a little CGI does occasionally creep in, you didn't really think that the smiles of the dentists were real, did you? Or even the Dentists themselves? Come on, it adds to the drama. At least they didn't stoop to having Jim fall off the high wire and go SSSsssSSSsss splattooie!!! on an X drawn on the ground. I'm pretty sure that was discussed at a production meeting, but the point is that they didn't actually do that.
OK, they do have to have to sell ad time, and even CGI is made up of the electrons and atoms that real racers are made of, and that is reality, right? Right?
And OK, maybe some of, or even all of the backgrounds are green screened in Phil's garage. But the thing is that it looks real. And that also defines reality.
>Is it too much to hope
>that Jim gets a pre-broken
>ox?
LOL! He did seem to have the most broken of the oxen. And the others were so well-behaved that we had to rely on flashbacks to the last time this challenge was used for levity. At least Misty managed to handicap him again by quickly choosing the biggest pond without checking all the choices. With no other teams present, she could have taken at least 30 seconds to LOOK at the options before declaring that she wanted the "biggest, strongest ox."
Is a Roadblock still a roadblock when both team members perform it?
