Just read the post-race interviews of Shelly and Nici posted on the RTVW page.
I think the producers put them in there for their comedic logic. Except that they weren't funny. And they certainly aren't logical.
That leaves...downright stupid? Appallingly ignorant? At best, unimaginative self-rationalizers.
All of the above?

I thought the same thing as I read it. Their rationalization about not using the U-Turn on the dentists was the most twisted, stupid thing I heard in years.
