I can understand why the last three teams quit but I wouldn't have done so if I was one of them -- especially if the other two were going to quit. After all, my teammate or I would probably have found the clue and reached the mat before the penalty expired. Matt & Dave were dumb to go with the other two teams.

Good point. Matt & Daniel couldn't have known that their size would be a disadvantage with the canoes.
