This season seems to have a larger number of terrific quotes than usual, so I thought I'd bring back an old favourite from several seasons ago where we collected all of the great quotes into one thread. We stopped doing this around TAR 7 or so.

I'm paraphrasing some of these quotes so I might have gotten some details wrong or credited the wrong person, so please feel free to correct me along the way.

Post your own favourite quotes from prior episodes or any good ones that come up for the rest of the season!


Best (& worst) lines from this season’s Amazing Race

Caite: "I'm going to shove it right into my throat."

Jeff/Jordan: "Keep going {around the roundabout}, and maybe we'll find the street we're supposed to go on."

Brent/Caite: “Do they mean ‘south’, the direction or ‘south’, go in that direction?”

Jordan: “JEFF! MY HELMET WON’T FIT!”

Dan/Jordan: "Stop! They're shooting at us, and I don't understand why. We are innocent!"

Carol/Brandy: “This is not what we signed up for!”

Jeff: (to Jordan) "Put your boobs on the ground and drag them over here."

Jet: (said in the Red Light district of Hamburg) “Cord, we’re no longer in the Bible Belt!”

??: “Pretend it’s my face” – said during the fake-horse polo roadblock.

Jeff: “We’re stupid and we definitely shouldn’t reproduce.”

Jordan: (eyeing Phil's blank face) “You scare me.”
Phil: “You scare me, too.”

Jeff: “It’s weird, the dogs speak Spanish. They don’t speak English!”

Brent: (referring to Jeff and Jordan) “They seem smart.”

Jordan: “San Jose. H-O-S-E.”

Jet/Cord: (referring to Brazilian reals) “It’s the closest thing they had to Chilean money.”

Brent went to the bottom of my lvoe list when he said something about those"flying things" And then, He cemented his position at the bottom when he said,"Do they mean ‘south’, the direction or ‘south’, go in that direction?”

I think female Jordan is maybe putting on an act, but I'm afraid he is really that dumb.

Oh, I'm so glad you started this. Caite's "shoving it into my throat" comment had me spewing Coca-Cola.

I think "pretend it's my face" was Carol, since she'd pissed off Brandy so much.

Please note a couple of TARs ago the girl could not break the board no matter how many times she tried. Her partner who had been getting on her nerves all the time.

Then he said those fateful words, "pretend it's my face" - BLAM she broke the board (and her hand!), those words have power.

If it was, they're the ones who broke it. Caite kept trying to use the reins as whips -- enthusiastically. Because those you see as lesser creatures don't do anything for you unless they're hurt first.

I almost threw a 'Ladies and gentlemen, Miss South Carolina!' in there.

Brent gave us the title quote for this leg: "I feel like I'm in, like, Sicily."
Oh, it's Sicily with all the boats and canals in Italy. Silly me thinking it was Venice.

More ignorance regarding the Venice Sicily of China:

Jet: It was neat. Kinda tranquil.
