Previously: Three teams of two are dropped off in a remote location with no money, no credit cards, and no idea where they are. They have to get back home.Wait a minute. That's not right.
Previously: Twelve teams of two, each with a pre-existing relationship, compete in a race around the world.
Hmmmm. That doesn't sound right either. Take three.
Previously: Summer Sanders explained that on April 27, two teams of four started out in Miami with nothing but the clothes on their backs and their drivers' licenses. They have to complete 10 sports related tasks and make it to the foot of Mt. Rushmore. If they do so, they'll each win tickets to four championships. What is this crazy reality game show? It could be nothing but Beg, Borrow & Deal 2.
On Day 3, Kerri completed the call to Joe Maloof by saying yes, fly your plane out to Atlanta, meet us for dinner in Sacramento, and fly us back to Atlanta. Estimated price tag: $61,000. For most people, that would be a considerable chunk of change. But somehow I think Kerri can swing it - if not, she can always ask her daddy. But a complication comes along when Greg discovers he doesn't have his drivers' license. The team worries that access to the plane could be a problem without it.
Meanwhile, Team Cake is already in Atlanta. Charles' connection pays off and they get access to the practice field for the Falcons (TAR fans: did you happen to notice that Ambrose jersey in the background?). This task requires one contestant to hold, and one to snap, for an NFL kicker who has to make a 35-yard field goal. Charles held and Kristin was elected to snap. Her first snap was terrible, but the second was pretty good, and Jay Feely made the kick. This puts Cake ahead 2-1. They make plans to head to Raleigh, NC, and Duke University, where Charles has more connections.
Summer took the time to explain how elimination will work. When one team has five tasks done, each team must eliminate one player, who will be replaced with another.
Continuing on, Team Exodus got to the airport in Atlanta, where they explained their problem and found that since it was a private jet, there would be no problem with security even without ID. So they got on the jet and went to Sacramento to meet the Maloofs. Everyone seemed to think they were pretty cool. Dinner on the plane was typical airline food, but good enough for them to pull into a 2-2 tie.
Late in the day, Team Cake makes it to Raleigh. They stay at Charles' old house, where the residents there are quite glad to see him. Annmarie and Kristin complain that Eric is smelly and overly taking advantage of their hosts' hospitality. It seems his days are numbered.
On Day 4, Charles has a grand old time at his return to Duke and socializes with everyone he meets. His team members enjoy the fun. But the smack call from Sacramento brings them back to reality - they've got work to do. They work on setting up the task where they have to make three pointers at the Duke and UNC arenas within 1 hour with one of those coaches watching.
Team Exodus heads back to Atlanta partying as much as possible on a small jet. Kerri & Stacey shook their groove things most impressively. Not that I care about such things. Ahem...
Team Cake finds out that Coach K and Coach Williams are both out of town, which sinks the task that they had in mind. But Charles comes up with plan B - one of Duke's track coaches is olympic gold medal sprinter Kim Miller. They set up a task for the next day - with a 50 meter head start, they all have to beat her in a 100 meter sprint. The team finds habitation for the night at one of Charles' friend's house.
Team Exodus returns to Atlanta and finds a random stranger named Jack to take them to Greg's friend's house. And a nice place it is.
At the beginning of day 5, Team Exodus enjoys their run of the house in a nice place. The ladies put on makeup, and Greg shaves.
Meanwhile, in Raleigh, Team Cake and Kim Miller show up for their showdown. She has no intention of giving them any mercy. The team members are a little nervous. After a commercial break, the race is on! And our competitors seem to dust Ms. Miller by several meters. This gives the Cake Bakers a 3-2 lead. But it comes at a price - Kristin confessed she wasn't properly hydrated and felt awful after the sprint.
Team Exodus, still in Atlanta, head for the Hawks' arena. The approach is bad and the people they meet are not friendly. Eventually they get kicked out. So they went to the office for the Atlanta Hawks (different people) and meet with much better results. They get into the arena and look to try an NBA 3 pointer. This task has a McDonald's meal for the team attached, if you care (and you probably shouldn't). Kerri went first. Her first two shots were short. But the third shot, underhanded, went in. Swish! Awesome! The race is tied again.
Team Cake hung around Raleigh to make sure Kristin was OK. But they were wondering about their ride to the next town. Did they leave them hanging?
Team Exodus spent little time celebrating, preferring to press on to Huntsville, Alabama to try to kick a 25-yard Arena Football field goal. They received a nice reception with players and there was plenty of them around to offer them tips and moral support. Stacey's kicks were hopeless, and Kerri's weren't much better. Greg's had some power behind them but very wide. It's all up to Doug, the soccer player. His first kick was good! Sign that kid up! But it was only practice. Surely he can make another one, for real, can't he? Well, no. He pushed it to the right.
Meanwhile, Team Cake holed up with Charles' father, who was unprepared for their presence. Not the best of accommodations, but better than staying outside.
(Note: My cable was in & out throughout this episode, and especially the last 10 minutes. And I completely missed the previews for next week)
Thanks for the summary...I just started watching this show which would make me viewer #19 but I missed it this week. What day and time is it on anyway? The first show I watched was a replay because it was on at 5 pm on Monday or Tuesday.I thought it was pretty interesting except for the fact that some of the contestants had these amazing connections that "normal" people wouldn't have. However their ability to connect to sports figures and millionaires still didn't prevent them from doing stupid things like forgetting the list of tasks in a gas station rest room 3 hours behind them. Guess that kind of evens up the playing field.
Sorry for talking about the 1st show in the 2nd summary!!

>Sorry for talking about the 1st show in the 2nd summary!!First of all, no need to apologize. Any discussion of the show is welcome, no matter where it is.
As for the connections, don't tell me you don't happen to know any sports superstars and owners. I happen to have several on speed dial . Seriously, I think it adds a dimension that makes it different than most shows like this - which strictly forbid the use of connections. But I can understand where it could get out of hand. And yes, even well connected people can do stupid things.
Thanks for the website...I will be able to watch episode #2 next Tuesday. I will have to take my responsibilities as viewer #19 more seriously in the future and make sure that I don't miss the episodes!
