They approached her after looking at her Survivor tape. She didn't have to audition for the Cupid part. It's just where they discovered her.But just because she did Survivor, doesn't necessarily mean she's a famewhore. (Well, not too much) A lot of people want to do Survivor because they are competitive and it sounds like fun. I don't consider myself a fame whore by any means, but if someone asked me to go on the Amazing Race right now, I'd take that offer up!!)
I agree...she was not necessarily seeking fame by wanting to be on Survivor. And it was not recently that she applied for Survivor...she applied for Survivor Outback, which meant that she applied before the Survivor frenzy started (they had already accepted the applications before the original aired). When they were looking for the Cupid girl, someone remembered her tape (it was about surviving bad relationships).I really don't think this girl would marry for the money. All the interviews I have read, she has said that she didn't really have trouble getting dates, but she had never dated anyone that she could marry....she has very definite ideas about marriage and the man she can see herself married to, and I don't think she would compromise it. I think she's doing this for the experience, and hoping she might meet the right guy....and if the money happens, so much the better, but I don't think it's her motivation...she seems sincere about it.
