"It's a small world after all" , my daughter ran into Evan with her friends at Big 5 Sporting Goods in Capo Beach. (just south of Dana Point, where the 5 meets Coast Highway, right by the awkwardly placed Marriot). He was very friendly, signed autographs but would not talk about the "winner".Seems Evan lives in the Palisades area of Capistrano Beach, a cozy community on the bluffs over looking the Pacific, sometimes called Dana Point, to simplify explaining the location. The Palisades' elementary school's playground boasts a panoramic view of the ocean. The "low end district", beach style houses are on small parcels, but prices hover in half million dollar range. The newer homes carved into the hill are easy million and up. On Beach row, a strip of 2 and 3 stories on a private beach below, guarded of course, never for sale real estate, the homes boast a rarity, your own private sand lot, BBQ pit and the occasional jaccuzzi, right there on the sand. They are usually on stilts, or living quarters are second story and up, due to the occasional El Nino conditions which have caused tides to ruin ground levels. Price tag? Not $19,000. Even the slums there are only affordable with roomates, and owners shy away from renting to non-family types, hey! thats what Dana Point is for, parties!
It's a small area, so my intel will be doing some Iraqi inspections team work this weekend (with cameras). Who can resist 7th graders on a scavenger hunt? I deflected supervision to the ex and the new missus. They so enjoy the simple things in life, (like each other!) who could deprive them. Did I mention the kids are expecting dinner in the harbor?
Too funny! My brother's mother in law gets one at Christmas (she trades for her little chateau near Bouges, France, she has converted into a B&B), they all probably know each other! Family holiday gatherings there are starting to irritate me, they forget to leave my name at the gate and I've almost have to swim in! LOL! Bunch of Bourgeois!I love the harbor, especially the fish tacos at Jon's fish market (within my means), but I was looking up real estate prices there to add to the post and a 2500 square foot casa in Palisades area, nothing extravagant, goes for $800,000 and up! My ex and Teletubby rent an 800 sq ft duplex from a friend at $1800 in the "low end district"! Las Vegas is sounding better every day! Old Evan better have a sugar mamma (or daddy?)!
