I am wondering how the producers decided who got what amount on their check. They knew Preston and all the girls from interviews, did they give higher amounts to the ladies they didn't think he'd click with? Did they give lower amounts to those they thought would go for the money?
Did they draw names out of a hat?I did think it was interesting that although they all knew they were going on a dating show, they weren't told it was For Love or Money til later. They imediately thought they were all playing for a million, and the greedy ones came to the surfice pretty quickly.
Have there been any articles about how the producers decided what amount the checks were for?
Allegedly, each woman picked her own blank check which already had the amount on it in invisible ink, and wrote her own name on it.

Thanks Tig, for some reason it was totally distracting to me, trying to figure out if there was some plot behind the amounts.
I know. I was paying close attention as a result of having to summarize, and couldn't help but thinking it would have been funny to do this on the last season of the Bachelor. Can you imagine Trish if she had only gotten $1? (*giggles*)

I think Rachel even commented on "I want to keep my check because I know I picked a good pick and don't want PJ to have it" in the confessional clips shown during the "PJ gets a chance to swap checks" scene, no?

To clarify, yes, it was done on screen. I used allegedly because there are some that I know who thought that there was some conspiracy theory going on whereby the invisible ink was altered after the names were written on the checks. To me, not very plausible, but hence, the allegedly. Sorry to confuse.

I must have missed that part of the first episode. Thanks for the info.
I must have missed that part too, I remember them being told they were playing For Love or Money and all the greedy ones immediately talking about the million. I dont remember when they picked the checks...I do remember they were all in the big case like before. The whole Rachel thing is definitely making my day. I hope she keeps that $1 check the whole way through and then picks the check in the end. It would suck for Preston but would be poetic justice for the greedy b1tch.
