LAST EDITED ON 02-23-08 AT 08:29 PM (EST)I give them credit - they made it reasonable to try and win the million. Get the price of the car right the first try in One Away? I've seen that happen. Get the showcase price within $1000? Again, I've seen that happen. Saw it happen last night. Just wish it would have been the cute babe who won the 'Vette, as opposed to spastic toddler teacher who kept doing cartwheels.
Edited because I forgot to include the name of the car game when I posted.
LAST EDITED ON 02-23-08 AT 11:35 PM (EST)I was a little surprised by the extension of the million/double showcase range: for the later, it's been $250 for a long time, and the records say it was $100 before that. But even thousand-range guesses don't happen that often: the show was probably shocked to do it on the first night after failing on the million-dollar wheel spin over and over again -- straight one-in-twenty odds with a chance at a control spin.
Technically, getting One Away right on the first try is probably 1:32. (Or 1:16, since the first number's pretty obvious.) I honestly think it's harder to win Lucky Seven, which I despise more than any other car game.
It was kind of fun watching said spastic toddler teacher trying to do the figures in his head, though. 'Wait -- is that a thousand or less? Did I win? Math is hard!'
Or they could have drawn this guy, and the show would still be trying to get off the air:
