"World Poker Tour"

Last night, I was trying to find something, anything to watch other than Paradise Hotel, so I stumbled onto the World Poker Tour Championships on the Travel Channel. I've played some poker before (but not Texas Hold 'Em, which is what they play on these tours), so I decided to watch. When Mr. Bebo came home, he quickly got engrossed, even though he's not a poker player.

It was fascinating watching these guys play their strategies. Some of the mind games were fun to watch. There were times that guys unwittingly folded with a winning hand, because someone else bluffed so well.

Mr. B enjoyed it so much that he wants me to start playing.

It also keeps that Van Patton kid off the streets (he's a co-host).

I'm not a poker player whatsoever, but my roommate-brother watches it, and I got hooked on it as well. Betting $400,000 on one hand has got to be one heckuva adreneline rush.

A couple weeks ago, Jerry Buss was at the final table, playing with the big boys. Several celebs had participated, but Buss was lucky enough to make it to the final table of 8. I think he finished 3rd. That's better than what his team did this year

I saw one of these a couple days ago. It was fun to watch, even though I have no idea how to play and the closest I have come to gambling was playing video poker on the computer. One of the guys who was playing was wearing sunglasses. I don't think thats a good idea, can't the other players see a reflection of your cards in the glass...I think i saw that on an episode of Growing Pains. Just a thought.
