"Daytime Emmys"

Being a soap fan, I have to comment on the Daytime Emmys. I don't even know where to begin. Oh I know, Deidre Hall's first dress. I love you Deidre, but you are not young enough to pull off a leopard skin dress. However it was hysterical when Christian LeBlanc won and he called her Marlena. That's like calling Susan Lucci Erica. Nancy Lee Grahn, IMO looked the best although I have heard that Becky Herbst did but I haven't seen her dress.

Ok, three people who won pissed me off. I think you have to be on the show for the majority of the year. David Lago, as talented as he is, won even though he was only on a few months. And what was up with that speech? He had to be just a little drunk. Jacob Young should have won, IMO

Next was Erika Slezak. Now I think she is extremely talented, but in reality, she wasn't a lead actress this year. Supporting actress and she would have won. She didn't have the body of work that she has had in previous years. Lead actress was so packed full of talent, but I would have gone with Nancy Lee Grahn.

Finally, NATALIA LIVINGSTON??? I almost had a heart attack when they announced her name. Up against an icon such as Jeanne Cooper? You are telling me that she is better than Jeanne Cooper, Heather Tom and Robin Christopher? I so don't think so.

Now, I like my presenters to be from the same show. Not mixed up by network. It makes no sense to me to see Kristian Alfonso and Lorenzo Lamas presenting an award, even though 20 years ago they worked together. However, Maura West and Michael Park were awesome together, as was Gina Tognoni and Laura Wright (Speaking of Gina, at one of the soap boards I visit, it seems that Gina and the guy that plays Jonathan on GL, Tom Pelphrey are a couple)

I was so happy to see Eden Riegel win. She has had so much amazing work in the last few years it is wonderful to see her rewarded, even though she is no longer on the show. Her storylines were incredible and she made the character of Bianca come alive. ANd I was happy to see Christian LeBlanc win, he totally deserved it, as did Greg Rikaart.

However, GH should not have won Drama series. Y&R should have.

And for God's sake, why wasn't there even a moment of silence for Anna Lee and oh I can't remember her name, but she played Phoebe on AMC, they both passed away this year and were on their shows forever. Major disrespect.

So thats my two cents

I didn't watch the awards show, but I'm happy to hear that "Bianca" won. It was good to see her on AMC this week. You are thinking of Ruth Warrick, as Phoebe Wallingford. She definitely should have been mentioned at the awards show.

Hi Lady T. I thought about you Friday night. In fact I checked over here in case someone was doing a discussion thread during the show. I wasn't able to watch the entire show and had to check the website for the complete list of winners.

Wasn't Anna Lee honored last year? I thought she passed away in earlyl 2004. There was a link on the website to a tribute to Ruth Warrick. I thought they aired a tribute and I just missed it.

I thought about that with Anna Lee, maybe it was last year. But Ruth Warrick was just recently and I didn't see a mention. I may have missed it. Anyone else watch? What did you think?

I didn't watch, I haven't even checked to see who won. But I think Y&R has a story with Cassie right now that should seal the win for them next year.
