While on vacation, I managed to catch Cheap Seats, a rather silly show on ESPN Classic hosted by comedians Randy and Jason Sklar. I'll let you read about lots of the nitty-gritty here. Nice to see that ESPN, a network that has never taken its image of itself that seriously, realizes that not everything it's ever aired is worthy of being declared "classic." And the Sklars poke good holes into all of it!It's stunning just seeing some of what ESPN has chosen to cover over the years: Scrabble tournaments, darts competitions (featuring a young Chris Berman on the mic!), and World's Strongest Men competitions (which I admit to having watched). They also dust off some pre-ESPN Wide World of Sports and other stuff that, for some reason, have not been lost to history (while classics like the Hercules and Sinbad the Sailor cartoons have).
The link above has a number of Quicktime links, if you haven't seen the show. Check it, and them, out!

I also admit to watching the arm wrestling championships from Petaluma, CA.
