So, were you all crying your eyes out with Ty Pennington, or did you catch the premiere?Best line is obvious: "I just blue myself."
When the police kept arresting the twin uncle? Excellent. When George Michael and his father get pulled over and George Michael is sitting in dad's lap? V. v. good.
Still liking/lvoeing this show.

I think the hidden subtext of this show is that Michael's actually sicker than all of the others put together. It's just that no one's caught on yet. Oh, and if anything ever seen in the 'next week' segment ever actually appears in a next week, Vegas will pay eight to one.

That's one of my favorite notes to the show, the fact that the "scenes from next week" are bogus. In fact, the whole dialogue between Michael and Henry Winkler was lifted verbatim from last season, when the father first went into jail.

"Oh, and if anything ever seen in the 'next week' segment ever actually appears in a next week, Vegas will pay eight to one."They're not supposed to, that's part of what's so funny. It's just another chance for new jokes.

LAST EDITED ON 11-29-04 AT 09:28 AM (EST)I just finished watching Season One on DVD...how the heck did I miss this show on the first go around? It is GREAT!
I think I have only 3 episodes from season two on replay. I will try to get to them tonight.
Edited to add:
My Update. I am all caught up now. The first three episodes of season two did not disappoint. A few memorable moments:
1. When Tobias and Lindsay got to sleep in the master bedroom, Tobias's first comments were: "To be in a queen again." He was not necessary refering to the matress size!
2. The whole Parmeasan Private Eye thing is a hoot! I love it when Lucille screams upon seeing him.
3. The blue man group was pretty funny as well...
I love this show!
Gob? I *heart* him! Agian, what a funny show!

I'm so proud of us...we've added a NON-REALITY show to our lineup!

I thought tonight's episode was one of the funniest ever. The references to Charlie Brown, to Anne Frank (hiding in the attic) and the whole Poof magazine had me LMAO the whole half hour!

>I thought tonight's episode was one
>of the funniest ever. The
>references to Charlie Brown...yeah, but did anyone catch the best Charlie Brown reference hidden in the episode??? There was a scene where Bateman's son (forgot his name) is walking moping his way home down the sidewalk with the Charlie Brown music playing and when he passes one of the houses if you look very closely (or pause it if you have TIVO) you can clearly see a red dog house with a beagle laying on top of it right in front of the house. I had to rewind to make sure I saw what I thought I saw....pure genius.

LAST EDITED ON 12-15-04 AT 10:04 AM (EST)But Season 2 is totally kicking Season 1's arse...and Season 1 was brilliant. OMG this show is brilliant.
Easily the funniest show on TV right now.

Unfortunately, the ratings are still diving between Simpsons to Arrested Development, and cancellation may be in the future.Hence, BUMP BUMP BUMP.

Sometimes I hate Fox.
I ONLY tune in to Fox on Sunday night because of Arrested Development. they would be stupid enough to have another 6 seasons of the Simpsons and cancel greatness.

Still not canceled YET, so keep watching.

I have never laughed harder at a TV show in my life than I did when the "Get rid of the Seaward" scene presented itself. That's the funniest thing I've ever seen on television.

There was a new episode Sunday night. Fox is a little weird about new episodes, a couple of reruns, return to new episodes scheduling.
"A bump to raise awareness"
Posted by LozengeofLove on 03-28-05 at 01:08 AM
I'm bumping this thread in hopes of garnering at least one more viewer. In case you've never seen this show, it is comedic GENIUS! Recently, Fox cut the episode order for this season from 22 to 18 episodes, a sign that the show is in danger, right? All Fox needs to do is move the show to a less prestigious television night.
An example of the show's genius: on tonight's episode, Michael Bluth was upset that his contract, which originally asked him to build 22 houses, was being reduced to only 18. "But we already have the bluprints for the extra houses!" Michael proclaims, to which the narrator adds, "No, they actually hadn't. But they would've!"
Honestly the first moment in television I've ever spat my drink all over the front of me from laughing so hard.

I lvoe this show. It's even better now that we have our DVR, because Mr. B and I will say, "They did NOT just say that, did they?" and go back and enjoy it all over again. And what other show would have Henry Winkler jump a shark?
Besides Happy Days, of course.

Or the Homer Simpson doctor, designing breakthrough surgeries like the index/middle finger switch. Doh!This is a great great little show. I like rewatching, too-there are little asides in each episode that sometimes fly right by me the first time. I wish the Simpsons audience would just sit tight and watch this one, too. Don't know what it would take to make this a hit, but I'd even be okay with them giving JayLo a recurring role if it helped keep the show from cancellation.
And I cannot tell you how strong and endorsement this is.

I was crying when Michael told Tobias that he should tape-record himself so that he could understand how some of his statements could be misconstrued - his reactions to himself were priceless!"Nothing wrong with THAT one!"

I just watched episodes 1-16 of Season 1 this weekend. Absolutely hilarious. Can't wait to see the rest! I'll probably have to wait awhile for Season 2 to come out on dvd though, huh?
Syren? she awesome.

Well, they're bound to start repeating Season Two soon. I don't think you have to follow the "plot" to enjoy, anyway - watch it after the Simpsons and help keep the numbers up! Mrs. Featherbottom thanks you.
Anyone catch Ione Skye last night? Take me to your secular world!

Bumping because (A) it was the season finale last Sunday, and it was terrific (Pop Secret!); and (B) the show is likely to be canceled. So watch the reruns! Call and write your local Fox pimp, er, station manager! Defend the banana stand!

Fox doesn't reveal its lineup until Thursday, but word is already leaking that the network has gone and renewed Arrested Development for a third season! Hooray!
No more sulking around like Charlie Brown - I'm ready to do a Snoopy dance! Everyone pull out your cornballers and celebrate this the way everyone should! Even white Franklin!

I didn't start watching the show until we saw the first season on DVD this summer. So, I can't wait to see what happens next. I love the characters on the show and the plot lines are really funny and original. When I saw the magician on Average Joe, all I thought of was Gob. It'll be fun to discuss.

Bebo,
Can we start a new thread just for the repeats, so that those of us who didn't see them don't accidentally get some spoilers, here? Please and thanks in advance.
"RE: Repeats start tonight!"
Posted by Bebo on 07-29-05 at 03:44 PM
Well, the rule on the reality forums is that once a show's in reruns, there's no reason to treat information from that season as spoiler information. I don't see why scripted shows should be treated any differently.

Thanks, Bebo,
I didn't know the rule but it makes sense. Fair enough. I'll just be careful in reading the messages.
