"Summerland"

Watched the 2-hour premier, which repeats on Sunday, and liked it. That of course means it's doomed.

Love Lori Laughlin, and there's a semi-cute guy with a yummy Australian accent and a really cute guy with no accent at all. The kids were ok. And I now want to be rich and live in a beach house and learn to surf!

Anybody see it?

Yeah, I watched it. There was absolutely nothing else on. I too like Lori Laughlin.
It was a little sappy for my taste. Sure there were lots of scantly clad beauties frolicking on the beach which made it somewhat watchable, but it was very predictable.
The kids all misbehaving, until one of the roommates befriends them.Roomates all pledging loyalty until thing get a little tough. Then in the end everything is happy...

It may make it. I have never watched anything on THE WB before. So may be this is normal programming for them.

It was the scantily clad babes that kept you from changing the channel wasn't it Didn't you hear, they're installing a nudie bar on the beach next week.

All WB shows are taffy. So if you don't have a sweet tooth watch out.

Looks like next week teen age daughter gets slutty and California aunt tries to deal with it.....boy if that isn't ironic.

Surprisingly, I watched it, although I flipped back and forth between that and the Miss Universe pageant. Wasn't bad. Seems to me it's a total rip off of OC. I may watch it again, unless some reality show starts up at the same time.

When I read the description, I said "Isn't this the same story as the movie 'Raising Helen'?"

Wasn't there a show on that had a similar theme - Where the parents are killed - The Five Family or Dinner for Five or something?

Yes, Party of Five.
Never saw the show, but I used to hear lots of people talk about it. I know it was Jack's (Will & Grace) favorite.
Is it still on? Wasn't it about a family that was orphaned by a car accident?

Yes, it was about a family of five orphanded by their parents dying in a car accident (Charlie the older brother, Bailey the high school boy, Julia the high school girl, Claudia the middle school girl & Owen the baby boy). It was a career launcher for Neve Campbell and Jennifer Love Hewett (Bailey's girlfriend, Sarah).

It's ended probably five years ago with all the kids going their seperate ways. A good show for 12-30somethings...had a little something for everyone.

I watched it, because there was nothing else on, and enjoyed it. I like the guy who plays Johnny (Shawn Christian), he used to be on ATWT, so it was great to see him on TV again.

I watched it. I thought it was pretty good. Also, Merrin Dungey, who plays Susannah (Ava's friend), played Francie on Alias.
