Did y'all watch this tonight? It wasn't too bad. Best of all it wrapped up in time!

I thought Shania looked GREAT! I really like that song and I am amazed that she was able to sing sitting down like that. I know that it is hard to sing sitting like that. It was nice to see her laid back.

Martina's "Concrete Angel" was GREAT. She did an excellent job with it. I really like that song. If you see the video, it makes the song much more deeper.

Dixie Chicks got a good response (this is NOT intended to start another DC opinion thread--please don't turn it into one). I like the song that they sang. I like the star effect the crowd made w/their flashlights that they had. They do need to find a stylist that can dress them and do Natalie's hair right. Martie looked great. (swoons for Martie)

What did y'all think of tonight's show? Winners? Losers?

A California girl (and fellow Angels fan) who listens to countrymusic and who loves GS? You and I, dear heart, are kindred spirits.

I never really listened to country music until about 6 years ago when my son was in the military and brought home a ton of country CD's when he was on leave. I fell in love with George Strait right away. Did you ever see him in Pure Country?

Dixie Chicks got a good response

This must have been a pre-recorded event. According to this article, the Ditzy Chicks were booed at the Academy of Country Music Awards (not the same show as last night, I suppose?), and were not even present. I'm also not posting to rehash the political issues, just to round out the picture of them vis-a-vis their Country Music peers.

They weren't there, they were brought in via satellite from a concert in Austin.

They were booed last night. And that shirt that Ms. Maine had on didn't help. I wonder if that's why Toby left? (It said FUTK for those who didn't see it)

oh last night was the ACM's.

I got to see a little of the show...

Shania's "indian-style" sitting through her whole song seemed a little contrived. She's becoming as weird as Michael Jackson. (The video for that song annoys me, too. She seems to unnatural, as if she's not really thinking about anything but "Stretch so they can see the curve of my lower back and butt. Now lean so they can see my cleavage. Don't forget to stand in front of the light so they can see the silouhette of my legs." Weird.) She did, however, look very pretty. Glad she ditched that really bad dye job and over the top wardrobe she had been spoting.

Toby is my boy. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that song he sang with Willie. Such a great tune. I adore him, everything about him. sexiest voice ever, in my opinion.

Kenny Chesney gets sexier and sexier every year. I really think his "A lot of things different" is haunting and pretty and so emotional. He's a great performer. (And, yes, the sexies biceps of anyone.)

Reba seemed a bit stilted, but she's a doll.

Joe Nichols does NOT match his voice. He's a good looking man.

Ketih Urban. Ew. I'm so sick of his soulful, tortured face everytime he sings. On the other hand,

Martina's soulful face and expressions are so right on the money.

AJax (LMAO) is always a prince, and I just feel all happy whenever I see him.

Finally, I missed the Chicks performance. What did they sing?

"Joe Nichols does NOT match his voice. He's a good looking man."

You can say that again!

"Finally, I missed the Chicks performance. What did they sing?"

I'm not a Chicks fan, but I think it was new. It was called "Godspeed".

If it was Godspeed, than that's on Home. It's a very pretty lullaby that Radney Foster wrote for his son after he (Radney) got divorced.

I love Radney Foster and that is a great song! Wish he had more success.
