Keep it here until the West Coast has a chance to clean up the mess after the show.

Hooray for Hollywood
That screwy catty *itchy Hollywood
Where any TCO or white guitar guy can be a panic
With just a face that won't kill
And any song bird can be a gone bird
because the voters always vote for a man

You're skipping ahead in the script. Tonight, we're filming the scene where eighty people we've met get cut in ten minutes and fifteen we've never heard of move on.

Sorry, having a glass half empty kind of day, and just can't imagine this year any different than the last 3.

It won't be. And unless he consciously avoids it through every phase of casting, I don't think Simon will be capable of dodging it either. Let them in and they get backed, whether they deserve it or not.

But at least we have a selection! And some of them are more bland than others!

...take your false victories where you find them?

Basic math says we didn't even see 80% to 90% of the folks packed on one side of the theater, large as an audience in and of themselves, so it's very likely some of the passes we saw earlier, we'll never see again, as well as some we haven't we'll see for the first time.

So far, mostly seeing more of the people they already used for the story telling.

Pity the poor people who just have talent.

Randy is delusional.

Golden ticket only equals one more shot.

Toughest week of life.

Twice as many golden ticket holders this year, so twice as many tears.

in groups of 10, sudden death no feedback from the judges.

Brett up first.
Gets his story pimped.

1/2 the contestants will go home today.

Symphony? Brett Front row to the next round.

Who names their kid symphony?

"RE: First Group"

This Loewenstein guy serves as a backdrop to the cutting process, unlikely as it is he'll reach the top 40.

Half are supposed to go home, but for now, he's not one of them.

is still perky.

And getting way more time than she deserves.

Yup, five more minutes.

Until the inevitable.

Rachel Zevita, Thia Megia, and Casey Abrams make it through. Perky Victoria Huggins heads home with her 11 pieces of luggage.

"RE: Early Favs sail through"
Posted by cahaya on 02-10-11 at 09:26 PM
Thia had a pretty good original audition (I still remember it), and while she's not stellar, she's got a good voice and a charismatic stage presence.

"RE: Early Favs sail through"
Posted by Max Headroom on 02-11-11 at 09:03 AM
I thought Thia looked familiar, and she has an unusual name, so I did a quick Google and confirmed that she was previously a semi-finalist on America's Got Talent. I'm a habitual AGT watcher, and that confirmed where I'd seen her before.

Rachel Zevita reminds me so much of my little sister

"Early Pimping"
Posted by Maroonclown on 02-10-11 at 09:14 PM
Why do we have to get the early pimping - *read* we need to recap the audition so you'll remember from 4 weeks ago - just to see them get cut down to their little dream-making ankles?

I don't remeber it being like this.

And who the heck is the crazy red-haired dude?

"Parent sob storys"

LAST EDITED ON 02-10-11 AT 09:16 PM (EST)

we've seen them before, and we get to see them again.

Paris with Deaf Girl and Tourettes/autism screamer boy.

"RE: Parent sob storys"
Posted by Maroonclown on 02-10-11 at 09:17 PM
Lambert-lite needs to pull back on that. Otherwise he's toast.

"RE: Parent sob storys"
Posted by cahaya on 02-10-11 at 09:17 PM
Paris does fairly well, but Mr. Intense James Durbin has Tyler clapping. I think he's going to move pretty far along in this comp.

"Stormi"
Posted by Snidget on 02-10-11 at 09:18 PM
who got in because she is so cute. and voice still small and week.
Lauren Alaina up next.

Ryan says the pressure remains the same.

James, Lauren, Paris--only ones through from this group.

"RE: Stormi"
Posted by Maroonclown on 02-10-11 at 09:21 PM
Stormi totally got it though. At least she realized she was wayyyyyy out of her league. She'll go on to marry the rich guy in her town. she'll have her "getting old" cosmetic surges and go skiing in Tahoe.

"Lauren"
Posted by Maroonclown on 02-10-11 at 09:19 PM
She does too many vocal gymnastics. She has to pull back on that crap.

"Chris gets story pimped again."
Posted by Snidget on 02-10-11 at 09:21 PM
*sigh*

and he is through, and gosh I didn't like that audition, but he's the story of the season so he can't be cut.

"RE: Chris gets story pimped again."

Is it wrong that I taste bile over this fella?

"RE: Chris gets story pimped again."

i'm definitely starting and everytime they show Tyler kissing her and telling her he's singing for her i throw up a ittle in my mouth I'm surprised they didn't have her wheeled on stage again i blame Goawaykey

"RE: Chris gets story pimped again."
Posted by cahaya on 02-10-11 at 09:22 PM
Not for now anyway. Looks like the rest of the folks behind him serve solely as a homeward bound backdrop.

"Day one nearly over"

nervousness montage.

Jacee, and they clink glasses, what about NO feedback!!

Hollie seems less nervous, other young guy did well too (didn't catch name)

All three going on.

"RE: Day one nearly over"
Posted by cahaya on 02-10-11 at 09:30 PM
Yeah, the Susan Boyle-ish chubby young guy... I forgot his name, too. He stood out in the auditions and seemed to do well here. Kind of low key, but on key, all things considered.

"RE: Day one nearly over"
Posted by Maroonclown on 02-10-11 at 09:34 PM
Let's call him Bieber-squared.

"RE: Day one nearly over"

they're calling him Justin Blubber over on VFTW I'm sure if he moves into the house, they'll starve him and do some liposuction...poor kid

Steven skips in. Ryan checks in with the contestants. Guess what, they are nervous.

Buckle under the pressure montage.

"broke up couple and power couple get all roomies"
Posted by Snidget on 02-10-11 at 09:41 PM
Like that was random.

Rob is on Quaaludes.
Ex Chelsea is too.

They both get through anyway.

The super happy couple up next.

Nick kinda jazzy.
Jacquelin also on the jazzy side.

Nick step forward, back line...after the break.

"RE: broke up couple and power couple get all roomies"
Posted by cahaya on 02-10-11 at 09:43 PM
Chelsea seems to have a sense of stage presence, doesn't let it get to her, goes through.

And what will happen next with the chirpy lovebirds?!

"Scotty"
Posted by Snidget on 02-10-11 at 09:51 PM
deep voice, he's from Raleigh, this is probably not going to be a good thing, they go nuts for idols around here.

Can he only sing one song?

Miss Jackie Wilson
Jerome Bell

also people we have seen before.

Scotty, Jerome, Jackie all step forward.

"RE: Scotty"
Posted by Maroonclown on 02-10-11 at 09:52 PM
Scotty's a dirty boy. He needs a bath.

"RE: Scotty"
Posted by cahaya on 02-10-11 at 09:55 PM
Scotty's got an interesting voice with that baritone (or tenor?), although it could get old real quick if that's all he's got. Different, anyway.

"Tiffany "
Posted by Snidget on 02-10-11 at 09:57 PM
Leads with her ego.

Travis Orlando, shelter boy. Oh that was bad

Travis step forward, he is going home, tiffany's ego gets to go on.

"RE: Tiffany "
Posted by cahaya on 02-10-11 at 09:59 PM
Tiffany, the breasted star girl in the auditions dances and blows kisses after finding out she makes it through (yikes, she slipped through the breasted crack again). Travis, meanwhile, doesn't make it with the monotone.
