What are your favorite parts from last night's show? Instead of ranking the whole show like a usual week on AI, let's just talk the good ones!

Here's mine:

1. The former idol winners and other contestants singing Together We Are One.

--Note to AI: THIS is what we like to see. We're the fans. We've spent weeks each year investing in those contestants from each season. We love, love, love getting to see them again.

A friend of mine suggested it would have been cool to have more focus on each season--like have Kelly C come out as a solo and then bring out 6 or so from her season, three on each side, as back up singers to her...and then repeat for Ruben, Fanny, etc.

I would have really enjoyed that. Instead I finally dropped a 2 hour PBS special from the DVR and pushed record so I could rewind and enjoy that part of the show again.

2. Casey and Bret Michaels. Woo Hoo!

Thanks for IDing Anoop. I wondered where he was, I guess I forgot how tall he was!

However, I watched it again and Allison is definitely there next to Blake when they perform. And a shorter, African-American girl comes out in the original line next to Anoop--this season's contestants didn't come out at first, they came out after the previous season's contestants came out--you can see this season's contestants coming down the center steps and then go on each side of the line to join the previous sea sons' contestants. Siobhan and Aaron are seen crossing behind some of the line while the line of performers are singing. So I'm sticking with my guess of Paris for the girl.

So, not everyone made the behind the scenes photo.

P.S. Melinda's hair looks so different!

It makes sense that it would be Lil, and that she would stand with someone from her season.

Bret Michaels

Pants on the Ground.

The only reason I recorded it.

Bret Micheals blew me away, for sure! But I hope he takes some time off (as if!) and cools his heels for a while, before he blows out another vessel somewhere...

I also enjoyed the duet with Crystal and darn, can't remember who she did her duet with-just blanked! Love it when that happens. But it was good, whatever it was. Just remembered that it was good.

Paula being sober was good, too, but she was very unsure of herself on stage, and that was a bit awkward. But the tributes to Simon were 'ok' for the most part.

I also enjoyed all the finalists and winners from the other seasons (as many as could be there-missed David Cook a bunch!) coming out and singing together. Wish they would have done a better close up on them all, but it was nice.

Joe Cocker? That dude just never changes-he was the same 40 years ago, as he is today. Still looks like someone picked him up under a cardboard box somewhere, but we all still love the heck out of him!
