Funny, smart, knowledgeable about music. I think we've found our next judge. Now if only AI will do something smart and offer him the job.

Ryan and Ellen are friends. Ellen becomes a judge on AI.

Ellen and Harry C Jr are friends. Harry becomes a mentor on AI.

Harry does a stellar job as a mentor and entertainer.

Do we have any idea if he'd even be interested (or have the time)? Although he put so much time and effort into being a mentor, I think he'd entertain the thought if asked.

#1 TV show in the US. Even if the ratings sink without Simon, it would likely still be in the top 10.

I think any entertainer (that isn't selling platinum) would love to be on a top 10 show that only takes up part of the year and pays fabulously well.

Most of the names that have been thus far batted around - Jamie
Foxx, Piers Morgan, Howard Stern - make me cringe. Loud, cocky, obnoxious and without the goods to back it up as an AI judge. Harry Connick Jr.is the first person who I could truly see doing a great job.
