"Rolling Stones Speculation Week"

If you have any real spoilers make sure they go in the spoiler thread, but here is a chance to speculate.

So who will sing what, or which songs do you want to see. Which will make you run screaming from the room from the announcement of it?

We have the 50 songs they get to choose from courtesy of Itunes. I'll post those in a reply so this start post isn't too long.

Some because I think it would be amusing, some because I think it will be inevitable.

Aaron Kelly Honky Tonk Woman
I think it would kinda fit the country vibe at least a bit

Andrew Garcia Wild Horses Emotional Rescue
Wild Horses is my dread song from him. I could see him doing Emotional Rescue as the clip on Itunes was all falsetto stuff and he loves that too.

Casey James (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction
Just imagine the Antique Shoppe stories if he sings that.

Crystal Bowersox Black Limosine
Seemed to fit his vibe.

Didi Benami 19th Nervous Breakdown
Why not go for the Brook White version 2.0 upgrade thing all the way.

Katie Stevens It's Only Rock 'n' Roll (But I like it)
I think she might be able to pull that off.

Lacey Brown Get Off My Cloud
Helium voice on the cloud.

Lee DeWyze You Can't Always Get What You Want
You know someone has to do it, and I think he could do OK with it.

Michael Lynche Brown Sugar
My irony meter needs a work out, that and it has that upbeat tempo he seems to like. Alternatively, Start Me Up.

Paige Miles Jumpin' Jack Flash
Worked for Tina Turner, maybe she can make it work.

Siobhan Magnus Paint It, Black
Tempted to say Sympathy for the Devil, but I think that is really too long a song.

Tim Urban She's So Cold
The song has what, three notes in it, so he should be able to knock that one out of the park.

Please no Angie. That song puts me to sleep at how slow the radio version is and you know they'll only slow it down further, and make it more boring.

OK, my picks for the few contestants who can truly DO the Stones....I see a week of multiple trainwrecks, of potentially epic proportions....

Crystal - No questions, "Gimme Shelter".

Andrew - "Under My Thumb". He could have fun with it.

Michael - "You Can't Always Get What You Want"

Casey - "Waiting On A Friend" or "Tumbling Dice"

Lee - "Happy" - he's got that Keith Richards rasp in his voice..

Siobhan - "Get Off OF My Cloud"

Didi - I honestly do not know!

geekboy

And please...NOBODY do "Satisfaction" and NOBODY do "Wild Horses", espcially the girls, due to the Susan Boyle factor.

I've tried to pick out some of the slow ones because so many of the contestants sing slower songs:

As tears go by

Tumbling Dice

Waiting on a friend

Playing with fire

Agree with Geekboy that Casey could do Waiting on a Friend.

I'm guessing that Michael, Siobhan, Paige, and Katie will do something with a faster tempo.

Didi, Cssey, Tim, Crystal, Lacey --slower tempo.

Lee, Aaron, Andrew -- ??

My thought is they should not pick a hugely well know song like "I can't get no satisfaction" or "Jumping Jack Flash" because the comparison is way too easy and none of them will come off well with a comparison.

Instead, pick one that is known but not as well known, like "Waiting on a friend".

I still think The Clark Brothers' rendition of Gimmer Shelter is unsurpassed in reality show singing remakes:

Whatever happened to them?

Yes, the Clark Brothers rendition was fabulous.

Last time i checked, they were still recording and had changed their name to "Sons Of Sylvia". Hopefully something will be released soon!

I want to see Crystal do "Gimme Shelter".

LOL, Yahoo's Primetime In No Time vid wrap up of last night's shows ended with a clip of Aaron being interviewed at the AI top 12 party. The interviewer mentions that the top 12 are singing Rolling Stones songs next week and asks Aaron if he knows who the lead singer for the Stones is.

**crickets**

So after the huge, embarrassing pause, the interviewer and Aaron decide that he doesn't know, because, afterall, he's "only 16".
