"AI9 2/3 Mixed Bag Auditions ECST"

A mixed bag of whatever auditions they want to show us as close to Hollywood and the voting rounds as the can. You don't think they are all in this episode by accident, do you?

Keep an eye out for who you think may be the chosen one, or the stealth chosen one (the one that really is the chosen one but is hidden by someone that seems more obvious, sometimes known as the dark horse contestant).

Hopefully we will get a bit more of the fun guest judges and not so much of the ones that scare or bore.

Keep the thread graphics free in case they give us something to talk about other than just what the heck that first episode of the last season of Lost meant.

Whut, nine o'clock?! I thought it was eight.

And here we went and raced through dinner and clearing up with company in the house.

The grids on thefutoncritic.com have the Weds show on at 9 pm (of course once you count on that they'll have a special 8 pm one)

Last time I dropped my pants on the ground it involved gin.

I believe they call it the "panty-remover"

Panties on the ground
Panties on the ground

Lookin' like a fool
With your panties on the ground

Not that I would mind.

We called them "lingerie away".

Not bad, picked the right song choice with the vocals to win the panel this time.

Kinda schalmtzy, no?

"RE: Jessica Furney"

Oh, please. If Simon co-wrote that, it would have been called Tire Tracks On Your Face.

Attention by acting out and different voices. Boston.

Good morning Heart ache.

Kara, needs more connecting.
But she connects with Simon but she is such an actress.
Kara, trying to help not make you feel bad.

Simon being overly dramatic but says yes, got four and off to Hollywood.

"RE: Amanda Sheckmen"
Posted by cahaya on 02-03-10 at 09:12 PM
Simon goes into sposmatics as he keeps her in suspense. What he's telling her is to get some self-confidence, you're good!

"Dear Simon,"

They're all performers. The only difference with this one was the background soundtrack.

More the merrier!

And even if you make it to Hollywood, your chances are almost 1 in 10 to make the final 24 - with slightly better odds of at least getting a(nother) clip before you disappear.

"RE: Tonight's real theme."
Posted by Snidget on 02-03-10 at 09:18 PM
Egad they are blowing through people really fast. I'm not going to try to get the names of the people with a few seconds each.

"RE: Tonight's real theme."
Posted by cahaya on 02-03-10 at 09:44 PM
Yeah, they're running through a lot of folks really quickly here and I'm yet again amazed you can keep up with it. Heck, I have enough trouble just posting my own comments much less you posting their names, song and judges comments.

"Lacey Brown"
Posted by Snidget on 02-03-10 at 09:22 PM
Orlando. Top 50 for season 8.

With Megan Joy in the chair episode.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

All yes.

"RE: Lacey Brown"
Posted by cahaya on 02-03-10 at 09:23 PM
Nice. She had that Judy Garland voice and control and made it sort of a song her own. Like her.

"RE: Lacey Brown"
Posted by whimsey on 02-03-10 at 09:28 PM
I'll keep my fingers crossed for Lacey. Then again, I really liked Meagan Joy last season, so there ya go.

"Stephanie Fisher"
Posted by Snidget on 02-03-10 at 09:25 PM
7th attempt.

V is her idol. She thinks she is beautiful.

Fever.

Too much bronzer.

Gets a second song with V not watching.

V goes to give her a hug. Gets a hug from Kara as well.

Poor Randy ends up shakin' his head on this one.

Lots of nicknames.

He is a man flower blossoming.

Can't help falling in love with you.

Very small thin voice.

Kara. Like a small school boy trapped
Simon. or you've eaten one.

it is a no

The girls are all girling over him singing.

Randy, you can definitely sing.
Kara. Singing teddy bear.

All yes, and off to Hollywood.

Best friend died four years ago. still really emotional and singing in her honor.

Hey Jude.

Kara. You really want it bad. You did good.

Randy. Good range, and own sound.

yes, yes (small), yes and she is going to Hollywood.

"RE: Didi Benami"
Posted by cahaya on 02-03-10 at 09:42 PM
A little bit howlish for me, but she's so open the panel can't but help but to recognize how much she wants to try and they pass her through with one more shot.

Simon. good choice of song.
Randy. Great audition, shy but with that voice.

All yes.

"RE: Aaron Kelly"

Young kid, so far this season's Archuleta potential. He's ok.

"RE: Aaron Kelly"

ditto.

But I think he has a bit more depth. We'll see.

Will recycle.

I kissed a girl.

Kara. I think you are naughty.
Randy. Not good enough.

Simon would have been yes, but it is a no.

"Shaddaii Harris"
Posted by Snidget on 02-03-10 at 09:50 PM
Mom has visions of her being a singer.

Falling in and out of love. Alicia Keys.

Simon is allergic to that song.
Randy, she doesn't even know that isn't the melody.

And she keeps singing.

"RE: Shaddaii Harris"
Posted by cahaya on 02-03-10 at 09:51 PM
Nup, no church choir singer here.

"RE: Shaddaii Harris"
Posted by kidflash212 on 02-03-10 at 10:11 PM
Almost want to tell mom off for encouraging her daughter with her 'visions' - she set her up to be humiliated.

"Hope Johnson"
Posted by Snidget on 02-03-10 at 09:57 PM
Lots of siblings and didn't know they were poor. Music is her escape.

I Hope You Dance.

Kara. Something interesting about your tone.
Randy. Very sweet, sort of innocence. Best lyric in a long time. Beautiful tone, need to complete the phrases.
Simon. I like you.

4 yes

"RE: Hope Johnson"
Posted by cahaya on 02-03-10 at 10:00 PM
Randy starts with 'the only thing you gotta work on...', meaning she got everything else right.

Good voice and control and spontaneously charismatic on stage. With her song and visual presence, she's definitely top 24 potential.

LAST EDITED ON 02-03-10 AT 10:08 PM (EST)

So you had almost a 0.2% chance of making it to Hollywood and if you got that far you have about a 1 in 7 chance of making it to the top 24.

edited to change the order of magnitude from 2% to 0.2%. Yeah, it's that bad.
