There's a yellow rose in Texas that I'm gonna see
Nobody else could miss her not half as much as me
She cried so when I left her it'd like to broke my heart
And if I'd ever find her we never more will part

Will we find roses, or thorns tonight in Texas. We will have some random Jonas brother (I refuse to try to tell them apart) and NPH!!! as judges.

No graphics on the thread, and keep the discussion here until the show has aired on the West Coast, thanks.

This is my year sign

Black Velvet

Very very sparkly

Neil: Critiques the sign, vocals not strong.
Simon: Missed the not on the sign.

She starts singing somewhere over the rainbow.

all no

Sings something to talk about

Security leads her out

Two kids and a job he doesn't like

Asks for an edit, does not get it when he drops a photo
Overjoy by Stevie Wonder

Kara loves that Dock Workers can sing on it.
Randy, Positivity
Simon. Best audition of the day. Really like you.

Billion percent yes, but only 100 from Kara, all yes going to Hollywood.

Smooth, bluesy voice even on an upbeat song. Just hummed those m's. Coolness. Another of my picks for top 24.

"Kimberly Carver"

Singing an original piece.
Kinda jazzy.

Randy, brilliant voice, you can blow.
Simon, dont see anything current, nothing that makes me interested
NPH: thought that was great.

Mutiny on the panel.

Simon says if it was Jazz TV.

Vote. Only a million percent from Randy. Simon is a no but everyone else is a yes.

"RE: Kimberly Carver"
Posted by cahaya on 01-27-10 at 08:18 PM
NPH is quite candid and forthright with his "I disagree with you, Simon." (Read: You're not the God.)

Well, ok, not a bad audition. Nice voice, bubbly personality, but I reckon Hollywood fodder.

Can't speak nearly as well as his ego tells him he can.

He stole Sarah Palin's wink.

If I Ever Fall In Love Again.

Kara. Randy help.
Randy. That looked like it hurt. He has another song.
Simon. That is not going to help you.
Randy. Singing is not your thing.

All no

Was on Barney and Friends.

And she comes in with a whip.

NPH getting the creeps from the Barney song.

Free your mind by En Vogue.

I liked the Barney song better.

Simon what is the big dream, I know what mine is.
NPH grow up to be dirty.
Kara. liked the presence.

4 yes and though to Hollywood.

First call I missed this season (wow, I had a good streak going there from Day 1). Like, no way!

Subservient, fantasizing panel!

"I'm conflicted."
Posted by Estee on 01-27-10 at 08:30 PM
On the one hand, she's a former Barney kid, so there's a certain amount of automatic built-in misdirected loathing at work.

On the other, give her a little basic training with that whip...

Whip hater.

Look, her technique needs a lot of refinement, but she can get work. Admittedly, the first few weeks are going to be basic training and she's going to need about twenty gallons of skin cream for her hands, but there's raw talent there.

Those boots may have to go.

Tourette's Syndrome sufferer.

Doesn't effect him when he is singing.

Bring it on Home to me.

NPH: Liked your voice. Brings up the Tourettes, but doesn't effect when singing.
Randy. Tough song to sing.
Simon people will like you

all yes

Good, genuine voice, doesn't let it all get to his head, only through his sound. Dunno if he can make it to the top 24, but time will tell.

Was with Fantasia in the Color Purple.

Original piece, all about him, oh then tries to suck up to the judges.

Oh boy he spends way too much on jeans.

Randy one of the best, that was excellent.
Jonas. Star power
Simon, cutesy audition not jumping out of my chair for the voice.

All yes including Simon.

Good character and style wins over the judges, although I have to agree with Simon that he seems to have a limited and possibly repetitive voice range.

Kara, you confused me, I thought it would be a joke and you have a great voice.

Hot pink leggings with a hot pink short over it.

She is as loud as her outfit, but her voice is as hard on the ears as that outfit is on the eyes.

Kara. This Britney thing with your head.
Randy where are the note.

Simon. This is what my nightmares look like.

She wants to sing another one.

4 nos and YEA!

Innocent sweetness with a voice to match, even sex appealing though not in the quite dress to suit her. Top 24 potential if she can dress as well as she sings.

Wow, 31. What's the total now? And what's the chance to make the top 24?

I thought they had horses in Denver, not cats.

(p.s. thanks Snidge!)

"RE: 17 on Day Two"

They have like 117 Golden Ticket Interviews up on the official website. Not sure if they put them all up, or they only have the to date ones.

"RE: 17 on Day Two"
Posted by cahaya on 01-27-10 at 10:46 PM
Yeah, I was just curious.

I figured it'd be roughly one in five or six that make it to the top 24 and several of those who are top 24 potential got air time. I'll go back and make a list of top 24 potentials shown so far and see how they do. If they bat above .200 or so, then it reflects on the editing capturing the better candidates during auditions.
