In my opinion the ladies were wrong in their attitude regarding Shawntal's appearance. If they were smart, they should've encouraged Ben to keep her. After all, Ben only got rid of Shawntal not for the lack of any connection at all but because of concern for the other ladies's reaction.
As it stands, can the ladies be 100% certain Shawntal isn't in the back of Ben's mind? It's happened before in season's past. Remember Ed and Jillian and how he left came back and walked off with Jillian. Then there's Ashley and Bentley, he didn't wind up with her but he affected her for weeks after he walked away.
The only way to be 100% certain would've been to have let Shawntal stay and compete for Ben. As it stands now, Ben always has the option of rejecting all of them and begging for Shawntal's forgiveness and asking for a chance offscreen. What do you think?

The only thing the producers give a rat's #$$ about is ratings, ratings, ratings. And they'll sell their souls to the Devil to get them.
I call "bull$hit" on both Shawntel's appearance and on ABC letting her do it. If she wanted to compete for Ben, she needed to be there right from the start, not after 9 girls had already been sent home. To let her in at that late stage would have been totally unfair to all the other women, therefore the whole thing was bull$hit.
She probably wanted to compete for Ben right from the start, but the producers knew it would create more drama this way. It did.
They were all saying, "Who's that girl? Who's THAT GIRL?!" Yeah, it's all bullshi t , but it's good entertainment to me.
Not that the producers give two $hits about Shawntel, of course. They probably didn't know the other women were going to take the snakes over her like they did, but they wouldn't have cared if they did know. I think they're considering Shawntel for Bachelor Pad 3, and I think they'll offer her a spot in its cast.
I can't wait for Bach Pad III. Bach II was fun to watch. I wish I'd known about Bach One, I would've watched that.
Bachelor Pad One had the most attractive cast.... I'd call it the Nightclub set. More hookups and lusting and jealous hurt feelings. Pad 2 had all the crazies left over.
I don't get the deal about Shawntel-- I didn't watch her season of the Bachelor and know nothing about her. The cold reaction of the other women was as should be expected, and thankfully Ben was savvy enough to not give her a rose. And she wasn't as attractive as most of the remaining cast of women either. The whole thing seemed like an offbeat type of joke to me.
