Past Eco-Challenges have taken place in British Columbia, Australia, Morocco, Argentina, and this year in Borneo. Those are just the ones I've seen.
As for the team of Playboy bunnies, this isn't the first time they've competed. Not sure if it's always the same girls, but I know a Playboy team has competed in at least one other race. This year's team is getting a lot more screen time, though. The previous team was just mentioned at the beginning of the race, then never seen on-screen again. I don't think they even managed to finish.
