Evidence 1: He voted for Reynold when (at least based on the edit), the plan was for Stealth-R-Us to split the votes between Reynold and Eddie, and the plan for the other alliance to vote out Andrea)
Evidence 2: He convinces Reynold not to play his idol.

Malcolm thought he was going home so he voted Reynold as self-preservation. The votes could have been split between him and Reynold. Reynold was pretty dumb to give his idol.

Yeah..that's what I was thinking.
I don't think his plea for the idol was because he thought he was being voted out.
I think it was to get Reynold's idol so that Reynold wouldn't save himself.

It sounds like Malcolm was just trying to make a big move and he got out-hustled.
