Someone on another forum pointed this out.LaFlor wins the first immunity/reward challenge. They find Clue 1 to the idol at treemail.
Espada wins the second immunity/reward challenge. They find Clue 1 and 2.
LaFlor wins the third immunity/reward challenge. They find clue 1 and 2.
What gives? Why did Espada get Clues 1 and 2 their first time? If it's going to increment to the next clue with each successive challenge, why didn't LaFlor get 1, 2, and 3?
I don't know, BF. They touted this as something the audience at home could play along with, so you'd think they would certainly have had that progression of clues for the audience at home.
Simple. Russell Hantz is on the production team, and he doesn't want people getting too close to his idols.
It could be a gufu but it could be that there are no more clues to add for a while. "We gave you two clues. Figure them out dummies."
The second clue pretty much broke the code. So they didn't really need a third. If they had had a third, and if it had to be easier than the second, it would have to be have been directions written in plain english.
That's true, the puzzle was solved by Jill in ep. 2. Still, it would have been nice to see what else they were planning.
But wouldn't / shouldn't they have continued to give out clues - otherwise everyone else (other than Marty & Jill) might conclude that someone had found it since they weren't getting any more clues? (does that make sense?)Or maybe they did give out more clues but just didn't show us...
I think it would be interesting to see everyone still searching for the HII - while we know it had been found.
But once it's found, production acts like it's no longer important.

LAST EDITED ON 10-05-10 AT 04:27 PM (EST)Espada didn't get another clue because they didn't win the third challenge. Clues only go to the challenge winner. I think they all know that.
But production isn't being consistent. Espada got two clues the first time they won a challenge. Either they should have only gotten the first clue, as LaFlor did the first time they won a challenge, or this time La Flor should have gotten three clues if they are adding a new clue with each challenge no matter who wins.
Unless as michel said there are only two clues in all, which seems possible.
