Odd the poor planning that placed six teams in safe mode while three teams battled for survival.

I'm not familiar with some elements of Leo & Jamal's specific faith. Are they allowed to be giant hams?

That's a first... Meanwhile, Noose shows literal brainwashing in progress. Not like there was much to wash away.

Since when does the majority of a Race pack rush towards the delivery branch of a Detour?
"RE: Disconnect."
Posted by udg on 03-10-14 at 00:58 AM
Usually, the risk for a delivery task is getting lost. This time, even the team who missed their exit wasn't actually LOST and finished faster than anyone else.

We're still in Guangzhou, China, and Brenchel gets us started off at 6:22 pm. We're off to Sabah at the Malaysian border. Teams are to make their way to the Kionsom waterfall.Look at the start times: 6:22, 6:23, 6:24, 6:26, 6:27, 6:28. Bit of a gap and then Leo and Jamal at 6:36 and then another gap to Jessica and John at 6:49.
Jet and Cord talk about how it's a big relief to have the second Express Pass out of the way.
Brenchel still in their taxi after several teams have already arrived at the airport. Could be huge in impacting who gets onto the first flight and who gets on an later one. They're 7th at the airport after being first to start. Yes, they're on the second flight.
Flight to Kota Kinabalu (incidentally, that's right near where the original Survivor season took place) and we're now in Malaysian Borneo.
Roadblock - "Who will fall for this one?" Teams have to 'Face the Falls' as they rappel down through a waterfall with the Travelocity gnome. This could be pretty dangerous if you're not light on your feet.
Dave is first to go down and get the clue. He's clearly recovered well from his injury. Cord makes it all the way down without realizing he had to get the clue from the left side of the waterfall.
Detour - River Delivery (put together a bamboo raft and make a delivery of food items) or Jungle Run (join a hunting safari and hit a fake target). The raft ride looks like a fun one with letting the river stream take them down and go past some locals bathing and other locals watching them along the riverbank.
Margie and Luke run into trouble as their raft isn't tied together very well and they're having trouble communicating with each other as well (as a former kayak and canoe instructor myself, let me tell you that it isn't as difficult as Luke is making it seem!).
Leo and Jamal are first to arrive at Kampung Tombung with their raft and get the next clue. They play nice with the Cowboys to tell them they're at the delivery site instead of lying as they were known to do last season.
Dave and Connor realize they've missed the delivery site and arrived at the wrong site (the stop for the Jungle Run)... and we cut to commercial.

It only took getting UTurned twice for the cousins to realize liar liar pants on fire isn't that great a strategy.

I'm feeling like all the talk about how the cowboys finish tasks so quickly is foreshadowing a U-Turn for them. If two teams were smart (I know that may be asking for a lot) and got to a U-Turn before the Globetrotters and the Cowboys, they could force the Cowboys to use an express pass and eliminate a physically imposing team.

That's got to be one of the all-time brain freezes. Forget invisible clue boxes, now we're at "What does that mysterious red and yellow flag mean?"I was worried when they started talking about the beauty of the course in the third episode. More so now.
As for Afghanimal taming... we'll see.

This is a hyperspeed leg. Heading for the mat half an hour in? Meanwhile, Rachel demonstrates a lack of sequins. Among other things. The PTC is so happy right now. And that's before adding all the potential blogging jokes.

Dave and Connor are full of "holy crap, what do you want to do" comments as they now realize their predicament. Second flight has now arrived in Kota Kinabalu.
Leo and Jamal lose control of their raft as they leave the delivery site and the bamboo sticks in the riverbank side. They push off and they end up in the water going down river along with the raft. Caroline and Jennifer also encounter trouble on the rapids, and in short turn, the Globetrotters are forced to duck as they ride into low-hanging tree branches and then hit the rocks.
Dave and Connor had to pull over and carry their food box back upland until they finally found the drop off site. So, now how to get back down river as they've left their raft behind?
Country Singers and Globetrotters head out on the Jungle Run as they go hunting for targets, using a bamboo spear shooter.
Dave and Connor runs back down river and are first to get the next clue which tells them to go to the pit stop at Tanjun Aru Water Village.
Rachel's little timbits between her legs get a massive blurring spot by CBS's now-nauseated censors as she gets stuck on a rock while sliding down the waterfall.
Margie and Luke's raft completely fall apart, and they have to pull over and re-tie it together using a piece of their clothing.
At the pit stop, it's a race to the mat... and Dave/Connor finishes in first place! They win a trip for two from Travelocity to Budapest, Hungary.
Behind them are Jet/Cord in 2nd and Leo/Jamal a moment further back in 3rd.
Team Youtube are seen walking along a road in the middle of nowhere. Huh. Looks like trouble for them.

Joey and Meghan are still walking along the road and recognizing that they're way behind.Margie's got a cut knee as we see her and Luke paddling in the water with their hands.
Country Singers and Globetrotters are still shooting at targets with their peashooters. The big guys are first to finish and they stop for an impromptu dance with the natives before they continue on. Country Singers finally finish and head on off on the river again.
Jessica and John have a really crappy looking raft. Let's see if it holds them up on the river - it's already falling apart even before they've taken off. Brenchel mocks their raft-building skills.
Margie/Luke are team number 4 at the pit stop.
What's that about karma biting you in the azz? Brenchel gets stuck on the rapids. J & J arrive at their stop well ahead of Brenchel.
Globetrotters are team number 5 at the pit stop. Shortly after that, Country Singers arrive in 6th.
J & J are doing the Jungle Run. Boom, down goes the first target. John is leaning the peashooter on Jessica's shoulder as he blows into it.
Brenchel loses their raft! The raft has gone somewhere under water as both Brendon and Rachel are floating along.

Love those Globetrotters having good times with the traditionally costumed locals. And I want Hunter Girl on my side (nice touch).

Rachel's looking like a drowned rat as the two of them coast along the river and look to put their raft back together. The short bamboo sticks seem to be lost so that's trouble. Brendon finally finds it under water and they put the raft back together and head on out again.J & J finish the Jungle Run task and head on out again.
Brenchel are now going backwards down the raft. Finally get there and go hunting. Nice slow mo sequence of the locals dancing, but not sure why they continued to show Brenchel in slo-mo unless they wanted to show us how slowly their brains operate.
Jessica/John are team number 7 at the pit stop.
Rachel does what (apparently) comes naturally to her - having a long thin object to blow onto. Nails her target and they head off to the pit stop and finish in 8th place.
Team Youtube are the last team to arrive ... and they're Philiminated!
So... the supposed spec from the folks over at Reality Fan Forum that this was a non-elim leg isn't true after all.

A lot of teams would have gone out after having the raft disintegrate: Brandon improvised his way back to the course.
If being married to Rachel gives you anything, it's experience in crisis management.

Yeah, my wife was just commenting that Rachel really seems to have grown up since the last time she was on TAR - she very easily could have gone into full-on sobbing meltdown mode, but kept it reasonably well together as Brendon searched for the missing raft piece.

Jessica got a nasty looking cut on her foot, bleeding all over. Deja vu for Luke as he goes into meltdown mode while trying to pour liquids into stacked martini glasses and dropping one.
