Last week... Switzerland to Germany. Some plunging, carrying of letters and a psychedelic experience. Two Ford Fusions are won and two teams go neck to neck to the mat, but it's a non-elim. Mona and Beth are safe.

Did they run out of sporting events to schedule badly?

It has to be worse than when newbies torture clarinets.

LAST EDITED ON 04-28-13 AT 08:21 PM (EST)We start in Berlin. Max and Katie admire their new cars and sit inside.
They get us started off on this leg at 2:02 am, and we're off to Edinburgh, Scotland. U-turn is ahead on this leg.
Joey and Meghan are next to leave, and they immediately talk about being U-turned earlier, and hope to get a good start to avoid having it happen to them again.
Mona and Beth are concerned because not only is there a speed bump for them but also an U-turn. Could be trouble.
Bunching point at the airport as it's empty and no flights are going out for a few hours to come.
Two teams (Youtubers and Moms) secure flights on an earlier flight to Edinburgh before it sells out, forcing the rest to book a flight that gets in three hours later.
Once in Edinburgh, teams pick up cars and drive to Gosford House.
Roadblock - play bagpipes with the Royal Regiment of Scotland, complete with an uniform and kilt. Max and Bates are first up, followed by one of the country singers (still can't tell them apart).
Max finishes first and the clue tells them to go to Craigmillar Castle, Bates also completes it on the first try. Country singer says she's having a hard time blowing and keeping her mouth wrapped around it (yes, she said that).
Moms and Youtube discover they are behind the other three teams, and they thought they'd be well ahead. Oops.

LAST EDITED ON 04-28-13 AT 09:46 PM (EST)At least the hocky brothers know how to properly pronounce Edinburgh. Max does well on bagpipes but his Scot ancestors are embarrassed that he says edinburg not Edinburgh. Singer having trouble blowing that "thing" on the bagpipes.

Will Bates & Anthony draw a penalty for carrying the barrels when the directions were specific they were supposed to roll the barrels?
"RE: TAR 22 - Episode 10 - East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by PepeLePew13 on 04-28-13 at 08:33 PM
Good question. But they had to pick up the barrels at the bottom part as I'm not sure it was roll-able over the rock wall down there? Let's see if anything develops from this at the pit stop.

Phil just tweeted that the clue simply said to move the barrels on their own, rolling/carrying/kicking/under their power.

I thought about that, too, but since it was a detour I don't think the person would have given them the clue if they had done it incorrectly.

We're back with Youtube and Moms navigating in the car.Caroline is now on her seventh attempt with the bagpipes. You'd think she would be a pro at the blowing and wrapping her lips around it thing, but guess not. Finally she gets it done after seven tries, proceeds to hug everyone in sight.
Hockey bros are first at the castle. Detour time!
Tasty puddin' - fill with crap to make haggis.
Deliver whiskey - roll 8 whiskey barrels to deliver.
Mona and Meghan are doing the roadblock at Gosford House.
Country singers still having a difficult time finding the clue at Craigmiller Castle.
Hockey Bros find the barrel rolling to be difficult, wondering if anyone else could even do this detour considering they're bigger and stronger than any of the other teams.
A Robert Burns look-alike is serenading Max/Katie while they're making the haggis.
Mona nails the bagpipes. Meghan is having a hard time, saying she's not meant to be a bagpiper as she can't fill it up with air. Don't worry, Meghan, Joey's got all the hot air you need.

Incidental note: The Sheep Heid Inn (where they're making the haggis) is Edinburgh's oldest surviving pub.Anyhoo, back to the episode. Meghan gets it done! No idea why it took Caroline 7 tries to do this while everyone else got it done quickly.
Bates is having no trouble lugging the barrel while Anthony is left to push it all the way. They finish the detour currently in first place.
Robbie Burns is still yammering along while Max and Katie finish up. (And, yes, Robbie did in fact make an ode to haggis in his time) Warm, steaming rich haggis!
Bates and Anthony decide to U-turn Joey and Meghan. Clue tells them to hie thee to Niddry Street South in Edinburgh's Old Town and find a cobblestone alleyway for the pit stop.
Max and Katie decide to U-turn Mona and Beth. Let them duke it out to see who finishes last, Max/Katie aren't shedding any tears.
Robbie tells the country singers he was born in 1759. The girls tell him they like their men older.
Speed bump for Mona and Beth: Play Skittles. In a bowling alley-type of place, they must roll balls without any holes in them to knock down all 10 pins in one roll.
At the pit stop, Phil is there with a Jekyll and Hyde character. Max and Katie finish first and win $10,000 each.
Bates and Anthony are not far behind them and finish second. No mention of any possible rule-breaking during the detour, so guess it was okay to carry them in addition to rolling the barrels.
Mona and Beth are still rolling balls. They get advice to roll a bit to the left and the ball will go over ... and they get a strike! It's now dark when they leave and eventually arrive at the castle. Joey and Meghan apparently are already there and still searching. They get the clue and moments later Mona/Beth get their clue.
Caroline/Jennifer arrive at the pit stop as team number 3.
Youtube and Moms are now both at the Sheep Heid Inn, stuffing haggis. Moms finish ahead of Youtube. Moms find out they've been U-turned. Youtube are still taking their time at the detour.

Go, Moms! Those barrels are gonna wipe out Youtube.

Here we go. Moms find out they've been U-turned and go do the barrels. They say, "don't let them see us" as they pass by the Sheep Heid Inn, but Joey looks out of the window and sees them and does an OMG.Youtube finishes up and find out they've been U-turned. Off to do the barrels. Clear advantage for the Moms as they're not only two barrels ahead of Youtube, but they should be a lot stronger as well, as roller derby participants.
Moms finish their 8 barrels and get the clue to go to the pit stop. Youtube have now finished 7 barrels and go back for their last one. Moms get confused as to where they are in the car and have to turn around. Youtube finished now.
It's now a car race to the mat. Moms are stuck behind a bus.
It's a sprint to the mat and team number four is ... the Moms!
Not long after that, Joey and Meghan arrive at the mat. They're in last place and are Philiminated from the race.
Joey says he's proud of how they did and he really grew up a lot in the race.

Agree, got to see some interesting cultural things that related specifically to Scotland and the architecture there - wish they would have explained a bit more of the history behind Gosford House and Craigmiller Castle for those who may be interested.

In the end, those 2 u-turns made no difference in the finish order to the mat.

The fact that Max & Katie are Team Villain means that they probably won't win. And I have reason to suspect Caroline & Jennifer might not make the finale. That leaves us with Bates & Anthony and Mona & Beth and while I don't mind the hockey guys I prefer the roller derby moms, so I hope Mona & Beth win.Belle Book
