CBS sports must not be doing their jobs right, if they don't cause a delay soon, heads will roll!

Departure times:

Rachel and Dave - 6:53 am
They must make their way to the next town over to get their next clue.

Brendon and Rachel - 7:20 am
Flashback to one of their many squabbles with Vanessa/Ralph.

Art and JJ - 7:28 am
Brak-braking about the need to man up.

Vanessa and Ralph - 7:32 am
Brak-braking about feeling old.

It's still three hours to go for Bopper/Mark and we see them loafing around in their room. Mark is receiving an IV for dehydration.

Brendon/Rachel decide to go for the FF and they arrive first to find out they've got to shave their heads in order to get it. Brendon shrugs it off, but Rachel's got that deer-in-headlights look, and immediately goes into major meltdown mode.

You don't need to cry over a haircut. Its not that Bad. Joyce did it and Won the game.

I swear Rachel plays to the Camera with her emotions.

"I paid 500 for these extensions!"

"Okay, let's go."

Whipped much, Brendon?

So, for saving those $500 extensions, Rachel lost $10 000 and ran the risk of losing the shot at a million. Smart, real smart...

What the FF really would have been if B&M weren't starting so far back? (Surprised no one asked that yet?)

Let's just call that Rachel logic, 'kay?

I'm just disappointed that we didn't get to see this loathsome duo bald or Philiminated this week.

I'm not sure it would have been such an easy choice for any woman. There is no guarantee that they will win the race. There was no way for them to know what the end-of-leg prize was. And Mark & Bopper were way behind and had a speed bump. There was no way to know if that really would have made a difference.

If I'm close to having a wedding, I might not shave my head either.

"RE: TAR 20 - Episode 10 - East Coast Spoiler Thread"

I think the main thing is the way Rachel is going about it with her whining and with the excuse she threw up - "I paid five hundred for these extensions!" is why there's so much vitriol/mocking about her decision. Plus we know she's got money so really, $500 is a drop in the bucket for her, especially since she knows she'll get to be able to afford plenty of extra hair extensions once she grows her hair back because she's in the final 4. As Estee said, even if she may not have known what the end-of-leg prize was at the time, if it turned out to be a trip then sell the trip and use the money to get more hair extensions.

Just say "I don't feel comfortable getting my head shaved" and that probably would have been the end of it.

Mark does not look good.

I'm torn. See Rachel lose time because she won't shave her head and hope a later team goes for it and passes them....or my desire to see her have to finish the race without her precious extensions.

Brendon/Rachel are now fourth at the weaving thing ... but still no sign of Bopper/Mark at the start mat. The top four have nothing to worry about this episode, it seems, unless there's a mega-bunching point.

"RE: TAR 20 - Episode 10 - East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by Estee on 04-29-12 at 08:13 PM
Switchback Fast Forward: both team members (if not already bald) must have their heads shaved to win it. And it's Brenchel at the station -- and only them: the others were either closed out or didn't go for it.

Guess how well Rachel is taking this. $500 in hair extensions worth of 'well' plus at least two minutes of tears.

Vanessa: "Actually, Ralph is one of the few boyfriends who hasn't cross-dressed."

Posted by PepeLePew13 on 04-29-12 at 08:24 PM
Ralph is first to finish the weaving, so he and Vanessa takes off.

While running, Vanessa's top-heaviness (what else?) results in a massive spill onto the concrete. Legs and arms going in all directions and she lands on her shoulder, opening up a big wound. The airbags didn't do the job...

She says she felt something 'pop' in her ankle, but she seems to be able to walk on it, even if it's a limp. Ralph is carrying both backpacks for now.

Oh, I know you're a lot more graceful than Vanessa.

To her credit, she's sucked up the great pain she must be feeling and hasn't complained once. If it were BB Rachel, millions of people would be throwing rocks at their TVs by now just to get her to shut up.

"RE: TAR 20 - Episode 10 - East Coast Spoiler Thread"

That spill was over-hyped just to make us think mark and Bopper had a chance. It really was a non-factor.

"But the question is:"
Posted by Estee on 04-29-12 at 08:25 PM
If you're hours into last place and you know four teams have looked at the Fast Forward clue ahead of you, would you waste any time checking to see if it hadn't been taken? Court of last resort, sure -- but you're burning still more time in hopes of a miracle which almost can't be there. I won't fault Bopper & Mark if they don't look.

"RE: But the question is:"
Posted by PepeLePew13 on 04-29-12 at 08:29 PM
BB Rachel evidently forgot there is a team called "Bopper and Mark" because she's made repeated statements of being in last place and feeling like she's letting Brendon down over her decision not to go for the head-shaving.

"RE: But the question is:"
Posted by Snidget on 04-29-12 at 08:30 PM
It makes sense to assume it's been taken, but if you know there is next to no chance to catch up, may not hurt to find out.

And maybe a crew member whispered in their ears.

Pachyderm or Pack a Box

Decorate an elephant or find a ginger processing center, pack up 10 boxes for shipment.

Bopper and Mark are finally on the course. Speed bump - paint tiger onto men (captioning said "mace tiger", that I'd pay to watch).

"At the pit stop..."
Posted by PepeLePew13 on 04-29-12 at 08:44 PM
They have to take a ferry to the pit stop.

Rachel/Dave frantically motions to the ferry driver to take off, and they do just before BB Rachel arrives.

Art and JJ are still only halfway done with the pack a box detour, seems obvious that wasn't a good choice.

"RE: At the pit stop..."
Posted by PepeLePew13 on 04-29-12 at 08:52 PM
1st: Rachel/Dave, they win $10,000 each.
2nd: Brendon/Rachel
3rd: Vanessa/Ralph, barely behind the BB team.

Another spat ensues between the two teams. Brak brak brak, one is accusing the other of skipping steps and we get a flashback to Vanessa's comment that everyone can see Rachel's azz a few episodes ago, and now they're yapping about the nose comment Vanessa made about Rachel previously. Now Vanessa is apologizing, and the girls are shaking hands! "I don't want to hug you, though."

Let's see how that peace treaty lasts. I give it 2 hours...

One of Art/JJ cuts his hand open while still packing boxes and he's dripping blood all over the place. "I'm never having ginger with my sushi again."

Bopper/Mark arrive at the FF. They both sit down to get their heads shaved! Mark is already completely bald and he's still getting worked over. Bopper's hair is going bye bye!

"RE: At the pit stop..."
Posted by PepeLePew13 on 04-29-12 at 08:55 PM
Mark: Bopper, you still don't look as good as I do!

They hug and embrace when done, and get the clue to go to the pit stop.

Race is on! Art & JJ are still in transit, but their taxi hits another vehicle. {dare I say... producer interference??}

Art and JJ makes it to the pit stop in fourth place! They're still in the race. "We've sweated, we've shed blood and now we've shed tears. Hopefully this is worth a million dollars." {paraphrasing}

Bopper and Mark arrive at the pit stop. They're Philiminated.

"why"
Posted by jbug on 04-29-12 at 09:40 PM
did Phil make me think there really would be a penalty for not doing something correctly & that both those teams would have to wait out sometime.
I really thought Brenchel did not take off their shoes at the temple; didn't see Vanessa & ralph's feet.

"RE: why"
Posted by dabo on 04-29-12 at 10:00 PM
Milking it. Phil had B&R and V&R in the same place at the same time, good opportuniy to push some buttons and see what sparks fly.

"RE: why"
Posted by michel on 04-29-12 at 10:04 PM
Maybe he asks similar questions all the time but this time the episode was so boring that the catfight was judged necessary to show.

"RE: why"
Posted by dabo on 04-29-12 at 10:07 PM
Shame Phil doesn't show up at bunchig points to conduct TCs. He doesn't get to have two enemies in one place with himself as often as Jeff.

I wonder if Ranessa and Brenchel get into it again next week and this was a preview!

"Does anybody really know what time it is?"

Almost as much to the point, does anyone know the distance between the FF station and the Pit Stop? We've had a team take the green and come in last before...

Okay, Bruck. Now bring them back in a year or two.

You know you want to.

"Next Week..."
Posted by PepeLePew13 on 04-29-12 at 09:00 PM
Next week is the 2 hour finale... and it seems that one team arrives at the final pit stop in first place, but then is told by Phil they still didn't complete one task and they must go back to finish it. The other teams who have been eliminated already are standing there with jaws wide open!

"RE: Next Week..."
Posted by Snidget on 04-29-12 at 09:05 PM
Will it be karma getting Vanessa for worrying about what other teams are doing to the point she doesn't pay attention to her own.

Just as long as the mistake doesn't hand Brendon/Rachel another million dollars.

"RE: Next Week..."
Posted by Karchita on 04-30-12 at 02:28 AM
Or will it be Brendon/Rachel finally getting nailed on what Vanessa says they have been getting away with?

"RE: Next Week..."
Posted by Estee on 04-29-12 at 09:05 PM
Between the season preview cell which destroyed so much suspense early and this, I see no reason for the editor in charge of teasers to still be employed. They just gave away what would have been one of the all-time surprise shockers in the series and turned it into 'Well, we knew that was coming. So what?'

"RE: Next Week..."
Posted by michel on 04-29-12 at 09:08 PM
The problem is that it's more important to get viewers to watch than to treat those watching to something special.

"RE: Next Week..."
Posted by PepeLePew13 on 04-29-12 at 09:35 PM
Just think... what if it's Rachel/Brendon who is forced to turn around? The entertainment value of her ensuing meltdown would be epic.

"RE: Next Week..."
Posted by Loree on 04-30-12 at 00:25 AM
They really want to make us keep watching after Bopper & Mark left. I suspect we will know the one team screwed up long before they get to the finish line. We will be expecting Phil to turn them around.

"RE: Next Week..."
Posted by Estee on 04-30-12 at 06:35 AM
But we would have had the pleasure of spotting the Roadblock failure and then the anticipation of the mat arrival. And now? Not so much.

"RE: TAR 20 - Episode 10 - East Coast Spoiler Thread"
Posted by michel on 04-29-12 at 09:13 PM

By linking Joyce's decision to shave her head to their victory, the editors made Rachel look undeserving of winning. Add Art's comment that they weren't thinking, didn't know strategy, then I doubt they win.

Art also spoke poorly of Blonde Rachel but, as he was calling her weak, she was crossing the finish line, proving she wasn't. Makes her look deserving.

"Fast Forward Count"
Posted by samboohoo on 04-30-12 at 09:43 AM
When is the last time we had more than 2 FFs in a race? I thought the first and maybe one or two after had one every leg, but I don't remember the last time we had 3.

"RE: Fast Forward Count"
Posted by dabo on 04-30-12 at 10:37 AM
FFs were originally in every leg of the race as long as teams remained who could use them, except the final two legs. In season 5 they were reduced to two per race. In season 14 they were reduced to one or none.

"Record for Winning Legs"
Posted by samboohoo on 04-30-12 at 09:45 AM
7

I don't remember who that was. Did we see that because Dave & Rachel win? Or could they be the ones who are sent back next week?

"RE: Record for Winning Legs"
Posted by kidflash212 on 04-30-12 at 12:33 PM
Nick & Starr and Meghan & Cheyne were the teams who have won 7 legs. I would like to root for them but twice Dave has made comments about "MidWestern work ethic" as if people in other areas of the country have no work ethic or a lesser work ethic - find that insulting. At this point I'd rather Brendon & Rachel or Vanessa & Ralph win over either of the other teams.

I so agree

"RE: Record for Winning Legs"
Posted by dabo on 04-30-12 at 03:58 PM
Vanessa and whatsisname give me chuckles from time to time, though they seem really superficial people. At this point I don't have a team to really root for, but Dave & Rachel get a slight edge out of appreciation for his service in the military.

"RE: Record for Winning Legs"
Posted by Karchita on 04-30-12 at 04:00 PM
What an unappealing bunch that is left. Dave is way too big of a sexist jerk for me to want him to win, but Rachel is ok and maybe if they get the money she'll leave him.

At this point, though, I am for anybody but Brendan/Rachel. Those two make me hurl. Ick, ick, ick. And I never saw BB, either, so I started out neutral on them.
