It's late here, but didn't see when 60 minutes started.

Amazing Race's Facebook status:

"CBS Alert: Due to Live NCAA Basketball overrun, The Amazing Race will start at 8:43pm ET/7:43pm CT for East/Central Time Zone viewers ONLY."

I'll have to check this thread to know what's going on then since I'm watching the season finale of The Walking Dead. Maybe one day I'll get a DVR.

You know, sometimes Canada is just asking for a preemptive strike.

Mark and Bopper can't pronounce Bavaria. BB Rachel thinks it is Bolivia. But Rachel and Brendan love each other again. Meanwhile Vanessa is ready to kill her partner.

Some of the teams are going to the wrong castle. Then they are curling with gnomes at the rink.

Go to the wrong castle, that never happened on the race before, has it?

Is there any country where all the teams go to the right castle on their first try>

Brendan lands on his butt right in front of Phil.

When you said curling with the gnomes, you really mean CURLING WITH THE GNOMES!

curling with the gnomes

Are you talking about the road block or the beard detour?

>Some of the teams are going

It looked like it had started snowing when the later teams arrived. I wonder if the top of the mountain was hidden by snow/clouds. If so, they may have thought Hohenschwangau was the only castle on the mountain. The first time I went to Neuschwanstein, the cloud cover was so dense you couldn't see ANYTHING out the windows of the castle.

If it's the one with the Opera playing, I saw it too. It is a cool shower. The commercial has been around for awhile.

Ah, I see that they're still doing the obligatory gnome legs.

As long as they are giving out those great prizes I don't mind.

One TAR seemed not to have Travelocity as sponsor and boy were a number of the first place prizes lame for a travel show.

Train to Austria, then drive to Germany.

DRIVE TO GERMANY! How many end up in North Korea?

"Finish Order"
Posted by michel on 03-18-12 at 08:55 PM
1st place - Art/J.J.
2nd place - Joey/Danny
3rd place - Vanessa/Ralph
4th place - Rachel/Dave
5th place - Brendon/Rachel
6th place - Bopper/Mark
7th place - Nary/Jamie
Philiminated - Kerri/Stacey

Not much changes during the leg. Dachel lost a few places because of poor driving while Nary and Jamie had problems with curling. Kerri and Stacy couldn't navigate.

I really hope Art & J.J. fall way behind soon - I am sick of their boasting.

I think the are headed for a fall with all the obnoxious boasting foreshadowing it.

"RE: Finish Order"

That's what I've been hoping - there has been what feels like foreshadowing of an humiliating failure on their part.

Thought the Kerri & Stacey getting lost was just an editing attempt to create suspense but Nari & Jamie actually passed them and survived.

Follow a trail of gingerbread, collecting it as you go. Find Hansel & Gretel's cottage. Use the gingerbread pieces to build a gingerbread house roof, assemble and ice it properly, and get the next clue from a witch.

Or

Style a man's beard to match one of the award-winning beard styles.

Most are doing the beards. Love those styles!

Thankee. The captions came up pretty quickly then went poof, they come up about a half-second or so after the person who said it appears on screen.

What a surprise that it came from BB (as in Bird Brain) Rachel, eh?

JJ (or was it art) isn't ashamed that his skills extend to styling men's facial hair.

Meanwhile, the Boppers dress in lederhosen and learn to yodel as their speed bump penalty. "That's American-style yodeling!" *snort*

And that is why despite the scary beards and funny pants you still can't keep the tourists out of Germany.

OH MY!

Why so many? I am sure Bavaria is a small country, what did they need so many for? Was it a keeping up with the Jones type of thing.

They pop 'em up there like we pop Tim Hortons all over Canada.

(psst, Bavaria is a state in Germany, not a country)

Germans from other states may roll their eyes at Bavaria - it's nationally perceived as a tourist-trap - but the density of phenomenal castles in Bavaria is quite special indeed.

Why are there so many castles in Bavaria?

Well, it's partly thanks to Bavaria's Medieval importance. The (so-called) 'Romantic Road', a vital trade route, sliced through Bavaria during Medieval times. This route brought prosperity and wealth - but required protection, too. Castles and fortifications sprang up alongside the trade route to collect tithes, and to protect the highway from mischief-makers.

Brachel starts whining that they "always pick the hardest thing". This gingerbread roof is haaard. You have to put it together like a puzzle.

Dave is refusing to listen, as usual and may be lost.

Great debates about which castle looks the most fairy tale-like.

Having found the King's bedroom ("at the top") in Ludwig's castle, Art and JJ have to drive to the place of "27 consonants in a row" to find the next clue.

I think we have more than one witch in this episode.

And, the Boppers have trailed the field and are the last ones to the gnome curling--but they get their target before teams that got there earlier. They're on their way to the finish line.

I don't expect them to last much longer either - they are always in the bottom part of the pack. And even with two bunch points still wound up in last place for most of this leg.

I missed the middle!
Was recording; then forgot to set it to record the Good Wife - remembered about 20 min after!
I saw a few teams choosing the beard detour.
Didn't see anyone go after the gingerbread.
Then I jumped to the curling part.

Missed KY & the speed bump.
Glad they pulled through.

Yodeling was in the same place where they picked up the gnomes. Bopper and Mark had a good time with the yodeling as you could imagine!

Brenchel, Bopper and Mark and the cousins picked the gingerbread. They had to pick up pieces of gingerbread on their walk to the witch (like Hansel and Gretel). They had to put the gingerbread pieces on a gingerbread house for the roof and then decorate. The task was outside and it was snowing - lots of cold hands!
