Lacrence and Zac use three buckets instead of two. Opps.

how much grass was in the bags was very subjective - their bags could have been packed harder & contained more grass than others that were not packed but grass was sticking out the top.

All the teams doing grass and sheep, except the two girl teams are doing food and planting rice.

I wonder if it was an actual 300 rice plants or just "plant this whole bunch".

Count the Buddas at the temple, but the hand positions are important. You have to keep a count of the number of statues using each of four hand placements.

A & M in last place.

L & Z team with the surfers to count, first time they know they have the right count, just not which hand positions.

A taxi breaks down but since the team is only one kilometer away they decide to run.

Most teams are not counting the different type of hand positions and are only giving a grand total.

Meanwhile, surfers and L&Z have the right count and are racing to the finish.

BBBUUUTTTT,

There is no running in the temple.

Surfers tell A&M the answer, but they are so tired they forgot the answers given.

L & Z are team #1 but, the use of four buckets costs them 15 minutes!

Surfers are thus team #1.

Meanwhile, other teams are starting to reread their clues.

But not fast enough L & Z still are team #2!

For religious reasons I don't celebrate Thanksgiving but I just came back from a camping trip on Georgian Bay. Sun everyday, and great scenery, so I still had a great time. Plus the long weekend means all the heavy traffic will be tomorrow, so the drive back was easy today.

PS, I went up North on Thursday, missing the heavy traffic that way too. But thank you very much for the thought, you are a very considerate person.

That sounds like a great weekend.

Oldest couple in third place but left their bags with the taxi on the other side of the temple. All the teams need to go to their taxis, J&S lost their taxi early and ran to the temple so they could go to the pit-stop and get third place.

A & M had already paid their taxi and go from last to sixth place.

And the oldest couple team #7.

L & M arrive as team #8.

K & L arrive last.

The snowboarders have lost my respect by giving the answer to Marcus. Glad he forgot.

That was odd. Must really like Marcus and Amani. Otherwise, if you help a team way in the back wouldn't you want to help a bad team knock out a better team?

That's what I thought. I could at least appreciate the strategy if you helped a team like Bill and Cathi leading to the elimination of a strong team but there was no logic to helping a strong racer like Marcus.

On the contrary, it was brilliant. The snowboarders have to be seen as a strong team and, as such, would be targets for a U-turn. Helping Marcus and Amani, a team they can certainly beat if it comes to a tight finish, makes one team less likely to use the U-turn on them. In every reality TV competition, you never have enough friends.

Didn't seem to me they were thinking strategy that complicated. They didn't give any other team the answer to make friends - this just seemed like they ran into them and blurted out the answer.

And I don't think it would stop Marcus from using the U-Turn on them.

And you know it was strategy to avoid future U-Turns because...

...It's what I would have done.

It's called benefit of the doubt, thinking they are smart like their performance up to now has suggested...and I have no hatred for Marcus.

And common sense tells me that it's not at all likely that any team would have a such a detailed plan for avoiding a future U-turn. How could they have known Marcu & Amani would fall behind? And why only Marcus and Amani? They had the opportunity to tell all the teams the answer, why not make them all friends at once? The interaction I saw played out as spur of the moment - not a planned strategy.

And, by the way, it's not my dislike of Marcus (I don't hate him) but his background as a professional athlete which makes me believe he's not going to pass up any permissible way to get himself further in the Race. Winning would trump appreciation for the help given.

Common sense should tell people to prepare and think ahead. U-turns have killed strong teams before so they would certainly have that in mind. Making enemies gets you U-turned. Making friends gets you help in the future.

It doesn't even have to be about the U-turn. Marcus now has a debt. Maybe he won't honor it but it didn't cost anything to try.

Why Marcus and Amani? Simply seizing the occasion. Helping 4 teams at once does nothing really for them. Saving the last place team? Now that is something that will be remembered. Marcus is strong but Amani slows him down considerably. Marcus will U-turn the snowboarders if and only if it comes to a showdown between those two teams for philimination.

ETA: I meant it was your "dislike" of Marcus that made you react so negatively to the snowboarders helping him.

And they are Wu-Turns now, so a coalition buddy could help you out turning another team.

I had the same negative reaction to giving answers last season - to teams I liked and disliked.

Three weeks in a row they've been throwing "pay attention" stuff at these racers, hopefully soon more of the teams will actually start to pay attention.

You gotta give credit to the snowboarders. They seem to be the best at paying attention.

True. There are some good teams behind them two weeks in a row, some of it luck/bad luck, but mainly because they are paying good attention. If more teams start to play smart it could make for one of the best seasons ever.
