That's the kind of stunt casting I like! They should be a strong team (unless everyone gangs up on them and U-turns them).

My first reaction was also that it was a great sign for Ethan's recovery, but that was followed by:

2. Anyone else getting a little tired of stunt casting?
3. When you think of 'devious, witty, game-changing players', how many places down the list do you have Ethan and Jenna? Are they even on the list?
4. We're one step closer to RussHell on the course.

ETA: We shouldn't ignore Stunt Team #2: Laurence & Zac Sunderland. Apparently experience need not apply: it just gets recruited.

2- Yes but I'd rather see ex-survivors than ex-globetrotters or ex-bigbrothers.

3- Well...Ethan was the first to realize that tribal switches enables you to throw challenges and still come out ahead while Jenna knew the importance of clean underwear!

4- No... please no! OTOH, we know that Russhell won't last because he can't read the clues!

Gawd that would be hideous! I can't stand Brandon - he is such an $hole - at least RussHell was consistent and knew what he wanted!

2. Depends on the people who are cast. If they're Ethan & Jenna, I sure don't mind. If it's the Troll ...

3. Ethan can be devious -- he helped throw the challenge which got Silas out of the game. Jenna ... not so much. And I don't see them as especially witty or game-changing. But Ethan is likeable and I felt for Jenna after she left Survivor All-Stars to check on her mom -- one thing I doubt you can be snarky on!

4. I sure hope not!

I really like this casting, so I don't care.

I'll never discount how much physical effort it took to win Survivor: Africa. Unfortunately, that effort didn't come through in the episodes -- but remember this: every night, in shifts, there had to be two people awake at all times to keep wild animals (particularly hungry ones) from breaching the camps -- and the cast "bathed" in a pond that Tom noted was "an elephant's toilet."

And despite the peanut butter bikinis, Survivor: Amazon wasn't a cakewalk either, considering that some cast and crew contracted malaria while there, despite all the precautions.

I hope Ethan is well enough to truly compete. We're not talking "Dumb and Dumber" in this stunt casting.

P.S. RussHell would leak the results, so TAR wouldn't want him.

It does beat Jeffoon and Jordumb. I'm just worried about matching the other two major CBS reality shows in number of recruits vs. number of applicants. At this point, there's more reason to hang out in an L.A. bar than there is to send in an application for 2/3rds of the lineup: making it 100% would just be depressing.

Great. I hated Jenna Morasca on Survivor and thought I was done with her on reality TV. So much for that thought.

I'm with you - hated Jenna on Survivor, but liked Ethan, Lex & Tom. Perhaps Lex & Tom should be a team...

Well, she and Heidi were rather nasty to Christy, the deaf girl. I wasn't pleased with either one for that.

I just commented on casting moves like this in Survivor forum. I'm tired of repeat players. It seems like these shows are doing this now and I think they've finally jumped the shark. I love Survivor and Amazing Race but maybe they've run it's course when you have to bring back old players.

Agree completely. There are thousands of people clamoring to get onto reality TV shows, so why do the producers insist on recycling people over and over? Even the most charismatic people get stale very quickly when viewers keep seeing them again and again.

For those of you that aren't happy about this casting, the rumor is that Ethan and Jenna don't last long. I don't believe they make it out of Indonesia (legs 2 and 3).

For some reason, this doesn't bother me as much as the usual "stunt casting" does. Probably because we really haven't heard from them in a while. (Other than Jenna's god-awful stint in pro wrestling) I understand wanting to strike while the iron is hot and someone is still somewhat fresh in people's minds, but how are we supposed to miss our DAWs if they don't go away?


I'm just so happy that Ethan is in good enough shape to compete.

Did you see their site interview? The repeated punchline worked out to 'We felt we had more control over what happened while playing Survivor than we did here.' Yeah, because in MB's world, basic reading skills seldom get involved. The one-time punchline of their logic for 'all our money' has to be seen to be disbelieved.
