Another season of All Star TAR begins here. Oh, wait, I keep forgetting, no Dandrew - hence no all stars. Will we start on time?

I think I speak on behalf of the majority when I say "Will you just sleep with them already?!?"Remember, it's you or nobody.
For the sake of the species, let it be nobody.
Um, no. I like them purely for entertainment. Somehow I doubt that would be entertaining.

*count down to feeling the need to revoke their second chance in 3--2--*Yes, I am prepared to be annoyed, why do you ask?
So Dan & Jordan cheated to win the race. Because, you know, nothing Those People do (including breathing) can ever be considered as anything other than cheating.Pass me another bucket of whitewash. Extra-white.
Way to perpetuate the big lie CBS.
????
Looks like the teams will have their own themes this time...
It does seem that way. At least for the intros.
The Globtrotters intro only showed a shot of them from the first leg. Spoiler as to the first elimination?
I don't have much hope for this one. TAR's been updating credit images as the season goes along, and a few of those initial shots might have even been from original runs. It's a good theory, but...
I see the Cowboys are going to still get the nice guy edit, which we learned from this board is bogus. The winner of this leg gets the Express Pass.
Have to find something in the desert, and the first eight teams that gets Phil Qwertypie (isn't that what he needs) will be on the first flight.Last team gets a Uturn.
Ford Focus Cars to LAX
Queensland And Northern Territories Arial Services.
Last team gets a Uturn. It might have been more merciful to just eliminate them at the starting line.
If this turns out to be Amanda & Kris...
Whoever wins Leg 1 will acquire the ability to skip a challenge at their discretion...
Very different race this year?No clue on the bags. Phil has the clues!
They have to search an area on the other side of the road to bring an object back...
First 8 to get to Phil will be on the first flight, everyone else on the 2nd flight 90 minutes later.
Last team to get a ticket/clue will automatically receive a U-turn!
He wants a plane that eventually refers to QANTAS (he said the long version of their name...)
2012 Ford cars to take them to LAX and they will be...
Flying to Sydney, Australia!
I didn't realize that QANTAS actually stood for something. It finally makes sense why there's no U.
Me too and I work for Boeing. You'd think I should know what Qantas stands for!
New siggie by cahaya!
Probably on Quantas
2nd flight consists of Keesha/Jen, Gary/Mallory, Amanda/Kris.K/J have their tickets already.
The one I was rooting for get U-turned again.![]()
Had to drop off dude who had a heart attack in Hawaii.
There was a heart attack on the first plane, and had to literally detour to Honolulu, Hawaii for an emergency landing.Oceanworld is the next location they're heading to.
Cowboys and at least one other team on plane 1 missed the train to the ferry.Roadblock!
Someone must find a compass at the bottom of a Shark/Ray tank and then use it to decode a flag puzzle to tell them both where to go and what to tell him...
Keisha/Jen are having flashbacks to their swimming issues last time... and they still can't swim.
and they still can't swim. And they still can't think either. This is unforgivable: they knew what their weakness was, they knew they'd be running into it again, and as soon as they got the call, they should have gone to their local Y-equivalent, headed for the pool, and not come out. Instead, they kept going with what they don't know. And once again, the universe refused to change in order to indulge them.
They'll be accusing the universe of lying any minute now.
according to an article i read last week in the Chicago Sun-Times re: K/J, they both took swimming lessons, but are still not good swimmers.Sincerely,
A black chick
Smart move on their part.
And last shall be first
Fortunately, neither has Mallory. (So in the enemy-making race with Cara & Jamie, it's still a tie on zero despite the attempt at a head start.) And now we head for Manly, where Vyxsin assures us Kynt will fit right in. (No points awarded for in-team targeting.)
Well Swim with the sharks.Decipher clue in nautical flags from compass.
Find the comodore and give him the phrase.
LAST EDITED ON 02-20-11 AT 09:31 PM (EST)Be very, very afraid -- oh, wait. They gave them the code key this time. Nevermind.
(Shall we just call the Globetrotters dead right here?)
To compound the Cowboys' problems: After missing a train to the ferry, they've now missed the ferry, and are now absolutely Dead, Freaking Last!
Dare to dream.
Mallory solves the puzzle first and she and Gary go to the next task, sailing a 16 foot skiff across Manly Bay.
They have to assist in the sailing of a Skiff and spot and then claim a clue among the buoys along the course...
Gary/Mallory, Amanda/Kris, Keisha/Jen all have received their clues on the first try.Shelly Beach is the Pit Stop, and Phil's got a Croc Dundee hat on the finish mat...
Teams are joining forces to help decode the flags, especially since it's a long trek to the Commodore and if they get it wrong... they have to head back to try again...
Cara/Jaime have re-teamed up with Margie/Luke, as an example...
O-kay... not completely surprised, but it's weird to have the penalty hanging over A&K's heads for the next episode.
LAST EDITED ON 02-20-11 AT 09:47 PM (EST)Maybe it is a they have an automatic, but one other team may be Uturned by someone?
Oops, not the end of the leg,
Phil tries to get Mallory to stop talking and leave already.
That...was funny.I hope they go far because there's not a lot of humor in the other teams. The Globetrotters and the Cowboys can be funny but can be ugly also.
Gary and Mallory are Team #1 but there's no rest, Phil gives them the next clue immediately.
Gary/Mallory make it first to the Finish Mat and get the Express Pass...However, They're still racing! Phil sends every one back out...
Globetrotters get the actual phrase from Zev/Justin, which is critical since both Cara/Jamie and Margie/Luke both missed the phrase...
Help the physically strongest team in the race? Hope this results in a penalty.
Zev and Justin told the Globetrotters what the answer was but wouldn't tell the Cheerleaders or Margie and Luke. I like the Globetrotters but I didn't like that they didn't really try to figure out the answer themselves.
And likely saved them from elimination - word puzzles are not their thing.
Pity. I was really looking forward to the Dumb-Off.
I don't think they'll get a penalty for that... but each of them grabbing a clue envelope at the same time might give them one...Ron/Christina and Mel/Mike help out Margie/Luke and Cara/Jamie with the latter showing them where it is if the former tells them the complete phrase...
Margie/Luke help the Goths out by giving them the phrase, while the Cowboys don't even have the phrase...
Cara and Jamie does something that the Globetrotters almost did... Flip their boat over...While Jet continues working on their clue, we see 'check-ins' by all the other teams...
Jet's royally stumped by the flags... To Be Continued!
Cara and Jamie does something that the Globetrotters almost did... Flip their boat over...Somebody call 911!
Cara and Jamie does something that the Globetrotters almost did... Flip their boat over...Good thing they have built-in floatation devices.
*glare* The air pocket in Jamie's skull where her empathy center used to be?
Agree.I hope all of the teams who didn't actually finish the task get a penalty, but we can only dream. How is it that your partner can't help you, but another team can. How many teams admitted to not finishing it.

LAST EDITED ON 02-20-11 AT 09:57 PM (EST)Where the hell did the Cowboys get that answer from?!
The episode is a two parter.
I think they were just reading the first part of the clue, about the man at the skiff club or whatever.I must be missing something about the flags. Once you figure out to match them to the letters, how do you only get part of the message? Are the other flags somewhere else?
I think part of it might be the wind maybe changing what Jet's seeing and using for a decode... That and he's probably missing the portion about the phrase on another set of lines... probably to his right.
Everyone has been to the pitpause but the Cowboys.
The Globetrotters didn't even try to finish.Seeing Cord and Kynt in that kind of proximity is like looking at an evolutionary chart. (Cord's not on the end he believes he is. But there's a good chance he doesn't believe in evolution either, so he should be okay. As soon as someone explains what 'okay' means.)
Mel gets hurt.Again.
*sigh*
LAST EDITED ON 02-20-11 AT 10:19 PM (EST)Is anyone as disappointed as me at the poor quality of these racers? I mean, Keisha and Jen could have taken swimming lessons, no? Wasn't Vyxsin a strong racer? Weren't Jet and Cord usually at the top of the pack? Weren't Amanda and Kris U-turned because they looked like the strongest team? Weren't Jamie and Cara strong enough to finish 2nd? Margie and Luke 3rd?
This group is making Zev and Justin look like one of the strongest teams alongside Mel and Mike. From what I remember, they were nothing special their first time around.
ETA: Isn't the race usually run in 11 legs? Phil said we'd have 12 legs this time.
None of the tasks in this leg were particularly physical, giving teams with lesser physical ability a better than level playing field. Teams like Mel/Mike will wilt as soon as they have to do a something requiring athleticism.
If they're counting the SuperLeg as two legs, then it's 3 non-elimination legs, the first of which was tonight, 8 elimination legs, and the Final Leg...If they're counting the SuperLeg as one leg, then there's 13 episodes (unless somewhere down the line we do get a 2-hour episode...)
3 non-elimination legs do sound about right, though...
I'm pretty sure they counted last night as 1 leg. Phil told them, at the start: "The first team at the end of this leg will get the "Express Pass" and he did give it to Gallory so that ended leg 1.
