Please keep all discussion of the finally on this thread, and this thread only, until the West Coast has seen the show in it's entirety. We are delayed, at least in some parts of the East Coast by...waits for ticking clock as they have to show every possible commercial before starting a show that is already late...26 minutes.
waves to Snidge~~~~~~didn't check to see when 60 Min started here in central time but we usually get a late start when you do...
and we have extra recappage.
Phil usually gets it done pretty quick, though...
They do a pretty good job, seeing as they don't get extra time for the finale like some other shows.
For the first time ever, watching the east coast feed online here in California!
Welcome!!!
LAST EDITED ON 12-12-10 AT 09:34 PM (EST)J/T leave at 3:57 am

B/C 4:23

Jill/Thomas: 3:57amBrook/Claire: 4:23am
Nat/Kat: 4:27am
Fly to the Final Destination City, Los Angeles. Heat to Port J in Long Beach. They get $400 for the Final Leg.
So all bunched up for the final leg.Can we please stop with the Katy Perry California Grrls song??
LOL - do I sense an all-female team as the winner?
LAST EDITED ON 12-12-10 AT 09:52 PM (EST)Could be. Jill and Thomas had a bad taxi driver and they're in the middle of nowhere without internet connection to find out the answers to their clue. They're losing time quite rapidly.
Nat and Kat are well ahead of the other two and this appears to be the final clue where they have to figure out which greeters welcomed them in order at each pit stop... and they're successful on the first try!
Finish line is at the Greystone Mansion - they've left for the finish line before the other two have even arrived at the final clue. Looks like we finally have an all-female winner!
Re-cue West Coast Girls as we get scenes of LAX and heading for Long Beach... Everyone on the same flight and Taxi Race begins!
By a lot of tall platforms.N/K first and welcome to the drop zone.
Giant Gantry Cranes. Ride elevator to top, get clue, bungee swing down and then can open clue.
J/T arrive second, B/C third and every group has one person afraid of heights.
thought they were gonna have to move a container -
don't remember the season or country but they had a port like this before
Nat & Kat fear of heights!
Route Marker: After going up in a tiny elevator, they receive a clue and then descend via bungee swing!Remember that Nat's very afraid of heights....
Brooke not doing so good after watching the other teams swing.
what an adrenaline rush!
I'm so used to watching this show on the DVR. I don't know how you guys stand it watching it live.
Each team gets dropped in order and can see each other: Nat/Kat first, Jill/Thomas second, Brook/Claire third...Ride a helicopter to a surprise destination!
shut up Claire!
Brook is the loud one (the blond).
Shut up Brooke!Guess I heard the name Claire so many times, it was the only one stuck in my mind
![]()
Surprise destination.Assuming they can get Nat to stop her love affair with the asphalt.
Oh my ears (points to Brooke & Claire)
Kill the rabbit, ba da da da!!!
Have to take a letter A, B or C.Must complete part of a float for the Rose Parade, get clue from the rose queen.
A, B and C are the sections they have to do.
Now the music editor cues up the Ride of the Valkyries as the teams fly to...The parking lot of the Rose Bowl!
Roadblock!Teams must decorate their portion of the official Tournament of Roses float! Each team choose's a letter to determine their little portion....
LAST EDITED ON 12-12-10 AT 09:55 PM (EST)Nat didn't put water in the roses, but still finishes first.
Figure out answers to three clues provided and go there.
Nat and Kat looking for a taxi where the driver has an iPhone or way to check info for the clues/knows what they mean.
Rose bowel???ROFLMAO!
![]()
oops...
Nat and Kat are stuck in traffic.Brook and Claire just *flew* through the final clue and are back in a taxi to get to the finish line.
Jill and Thomas are still spinning their wheels trying to figure out the clue.
We're definitely getting an all-female winner -- the question is, which one? The editing is making it seem like Brook and Claire have made up a ton of time on Nat/Kat.
Nat and Kat!
Next up are Brook and Claire in 2nd place. Two all-female teams finished one-two in this historic season. And they just replayed Claire's watermelon to the face for the umpteenth time...
A taxi driver that doesn't know the difference between a GPS amd a computer? Do you think he was a plant to make sure a female team would win?![]()
I would but it sounded like N/K checked several taxi drives and it seemed like a bunch of them were particularly confused about things like the internet and smart phones.
Yeah, I think Jill & Thomas made the mistake of just taking the first taxi cab driver they could find instead of taking the time to figure out which one might know the Internet or smart phones. Nat & Kat didn't -- and we saw it.Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS TO MY FAVORITE WINNERS, NAT & KAT!
Belle Book, one overjoyed Nat & Kat fan
Nat/Kat leave the area with a clue with three portions that they have to figure out the answers to figure out where the heck they're next to go...
Nat/Kat get clues on phone,
B/C get to a hotel.
J/T try to explain to a taxi drive that GPS is not a computer and he just keeps driving and driving, who knows where.
Get a station and have to put the native greeters in order.
that's the kind of thing we used to see as the final roadblock.... only 1 person to do it
Season in review time!48 pictures... all with people wearing hats... 11 of them are the Native greeters! Once they put the greeters in the correct positions, Bob Eubanks will hand them their next clue!!!
Greystone Mansion!
N/K leave before anyone else gets to the studio.B/C exited about Bob Eubanks.
B/C finish before J/T figure out the clues. How can he still be driving around aimlessly?N/K having traffic problems.
I was sure they couldn't win because I liked them too much.NAT/KAT!!!
I thought the same thing! So happy!
They didn't come in first, some didn't cross the finish line.Unfinished Business. Another Chance to run the race again.
Dig Deep and Prove they are the Best.
What will it take to win a million bucks.
Prove they deserve another shot, in High Def.
I saw a Dandrew shot.I screamed.
It wasn't a happy scream.
Thought I heard something from the direction of NJ.
Fright Time and Big Sleazy who you are required to love because they are Harlem Globetrotters!Plane and Cable, neither of them particularly bright and at least one of them a bigot (though the handlers at CBS try to divert as much attention from the latter as possible)!
Here's the list of former Racers that have been spotted. All of them lost an earlier Race, but several of the teams were losers long before and long since running the Race:
Kynt and Vyxsin (12)
Ron and Christina (12)
Amanda and Kris (14)
Kisha and Jen (14)
Jaime and Cara (14)
Margie and Luke (14)
Mel and Mike (14)
Fright Time and Big Sleazy (15)
Zev and Justin (15)
Plane and Cable (16)
Gary and Mallory (17)
'Unfinished Business.'Kisha and Jen are still in the bathroom?
*counts* Five I don't mind seeing again. Several indifferent. A couple of moderate rages.
Why couldn't Sam & Dan be the token gay team over Mel & Mike? Mel & Mike were pretty forgettable and are likely an early exit.
Sam & Dan are still methed. (As opposed to the Globetrotters, who would have decided they were hetmed. And spent five hours figuring that out.)I don't mind getting Mel & Mike again -- particularly Mel. In the age of 'God told me to spit on you', it was refreshing to get a preacher who directly said his deity had better things to do than help him win a race.
Admittedly, you kind of have to think said deity hasn't rearranged the priority list. They're probably an early exit.
LMAO. I saw that too.But we only saw one frame. At least I did. We also saw Brook & Claire in there as well.
Samboobree, brought to life by Arkie
Will it be similar with the season that started with 12 teams, but only 11 can continue on? I saw so many teams with unfinished business, so is it possible they start off with maybe more than 12 teams?
LAST EDITED ON 12-12-10 AT 10:30 PM (EST)
There were lots of teams shown in that preview which don't match Starshine's spoiler thread. Misdirection?
Some of them, definitely -- but I think we can identify the camera sting at Mallory's 'can we do it again?' line as a pure dead giveaway.
Nat/Kat are the first girl-girl team to win the American version of The Amazing RaceNat also becomes the first diabetic to win the Race...
Brook/Claire take second, Jill/Thomas eventually finish 3rd...
We get a preview of next season: TAR 18, Unfinished Business, the first ever season in High Definition...
>We get a preview of next
>season: TAR 18, Unfinished
>Business, the first ever season
>in High Definition...And we saw Mallory/Gary talking about how much fun it was to race together, and Mallory closed by saying "Can we do this again?"
Shadows were quite a bit longer when Jill/Thomas got to the end.
Guess they finally did the last task.
There was a preview cap of them doing the last task, but there was nothing from their taxi ride. There was a cap of them stopping in a Mitsubishi TV repair place with a lady in back working on a computer.
I guess that all got cut.
I was stunned the three teams all needed the internet to know the answer of Don Quixote. Good grief, don't people read books any more? Or watch old movies?
I know, you'd think at least one of them would have seen the musical.
To dream the impossible dream...
I saw it! I would've recognized that one right away and I think after some thought, I would've recognized the Marilyn Monroe one as well. But I'd have needed the Internet for the second one.Belle Book
