Nat/Kat depart at 8:26pm

Fly to St. Petersburgh, Russia to then find the Moscow Columns... (The get the whole Planes, Trains and Automobiles to do so...)

Hours of Operation in full effect: Train office doesn't open until 6 in the morning, and the first train out isn't until 10:26am...

Needless to say: everyone is on the train, and fooling around on the train ride.

The train drops everyone off at Stockholm, Sweden... and then they have to find Taxis to get to the airport...

Chad/Steph, however, are one of the last teams to catch one...

However: Looks like the drama was for not, because it appears taht everyone will catch the first available flight to St. Pete.

There's only one flight to St. Petersburg so yea! more bunching.

Looks like all on the same plane.

Chad loves to blame Steph for everything.

Wait, did Nick just say something intelligent? "They call this the Venice of the North."

I think that was someone else, maybe Gary? Nick said it was nice that they didn't blow up their old buildings and Vicki said, yeah, like Vegas. *eye roll*

Classical Music or Classic Cinema.

Music-Palace listen to three compositions. Find which three pianos are playing the same pieces. Take the Sheet music and if matches they get the clue

Cinema-Onto a Sound Stage. Search through film clips and it matches what is playing on the screen.

Classical... Music or Cinema.

Music: Find the Maestro with 3 Grammaphones in a music palace and listen to them... Then find the pianists playing those exact songs... If they think they're right, they take the sheet music and put it in a folder with three slots...

Cinema: Head to the soundstage that housed the first movie ever screened in Russia... they have to sort through the film mess to find one that has a scene from the playing movie....

Why did every team try to memorize to three compositions at once? Wouldn't the smart way be to listen to one at a time?

That would have been the best approach for all, but they are conditioned to regard each task as a single task. There's no obvious progression in this one, as in first get to point A, solve riddle, get back to point B, find hidden troll with combination, unlock mailbox with new clue. So they didn't think in terms of breaking it down. It took desperation for Nick and Vicki to stumble onto the best tactical approach. They could have decided to just go through every possible combination until they stumbled on the correct combination.

Music: Sound Wall nightmare...

Cinema: First problem is finding it, second problem is then sorting through the mess...

Both of them seem to have their own nightmare issues.

Not a good day for anyone with lack of patience issues.

I'm glad to see they actually have two difficult tasks this time.

Key to film hell: Find the Russian words that are displayed in the film on the screen...

Jill/Thomas were out of film hell first. Brook/Claire escaped 2nd.

Chad/Steph are the only team from the Music option who stay there after a while.... everyone else head to Cinema...

The guys doing the rejecting for this part are kinda boring ... no "Ha ha ha haaa ... NO!" amongst this bunch.

Second, plant 50 potatoes... and also use a wheelbarrow's worth of cow manure, too...

Jill/Thomas get lost on the way, and have slipped to at best 3rd at the second...

Brooke keeps running into yards with barking dogs...

After a LOT of drama, Chad/Steph escape Music in 4th...

Jill/Thomas finally arrive at the Roadblock in 3rd...

Nat/Kat escaped Cinema in 5th...

Greg/Mallory escaped Cinema in 6th, leaving Nick/Vick in DFL and about to switch back to sound hell in Music...

I thought Chad was remarkably composed during this one - Stephanie was more animated than he was, quite a contrast to their first few episodes.

Nick/Vick find the key to Music's sound hell: listen to them one at a time!

Placings:

1st: Jill/Thomas (problem was that Phil and Greeter were in the park across from the Cathedral...) Win a trip.
2nd: Brook/Claire, who snuck up on Phil
3rd: Michael/Kevin (and Michael will give Kevin an earful since he was telling them once they got there to head inside the park...)

Steph can't find Duck's End (the wheelbarrow's place) to save her life...

Still no sign of Nick/Vicki (then we finally see them...)

Perfectly Average Team, from the Casino game.

Usually I don't like non-elims, but I'm glad Nick and Vicki survived for at least another week. They're not your usual TAR racers and they're fun to watch. You never know what they'll be good at or what they'll screw up. Nick was very good-natured being photographed by the locals in his babushka!!

I am liking them more, too. Despite their gobsmacking ignorance, they posess and have used assorted other skills such as Vicki's impressive athleticism, and have had a pretty good attitude. However, I was ready to say goodbye to them tonight.

I would much rather have seen boring Jill/Thomas (Who?) or the bickering Chad/Stephanie go home.

Mallory has a possible problem: 3 potatoes ended up in her wheelbarrow...

I saw that, too. I wonder if they'll have a penalty at the start of the next leg.

Nick Vickie are last but it's a non-elimination leg.

They must be far behind the others. It was dusk when they got to the mat, and St. Petersburg is pretty far north, so in June(?) when they were filming, it could be nearly midnight.

I noticed that too. I think they thought they were being eliminated so Nick didn't rush through the roadblock - took pictures with the locals etc. They better hope for a bunching point!
