"TAR 16 Ep. 2. ECST"

Posted by Snidget on 02-21-10 at 07:08 PM
Looks like an on time start two weeks in a row. I couldn't believe it checking in at 7 pm that 60 minutes had an on time start.

Can we have the Olympics every week if this will keep CBS on schedule? Or is it that they have Big Brother Stars on and they must be given special treatment.

Whatever the cause, keep all discussion of tonight's episode on this thread until the West Coast sees it for themselves.

TAR is on time in the US.

The US wins more gold than Canada.

Are you people trying to get me to move south?

Well I'd offer you warm as an incentive, but sounds like Vancouver has plenty of that.

In-fact, I live in Ontario --- it is still cold here.

It is my brother who lives in BC.

Also I have been to Miami five times in the last year, the last time I was there just over a week ago the temperature fell to 40F!

But still ......

Dogs speak Spanish, huh?

If you listened carefully, you'd hear the dog saying "arf del arf del tejido del tejido" instead of "woof woof, arf arf."

"Looking for other buses"
Posted by Snidget on 02-21-10 at 08:11 PM
There is a bus with a transfer that supposed to et there earlier.

Bret and Caite
Jet and Cord
Jeff and Jordan

all the the connecting the bus thing that leaves first.

"Complictions"
Posted by Snidget on 02-21-10 at 08:13 PM
The one bus leaves from the other terminal. Jet and Cord have the only bus that leaves from this terminal.

They try to get over there by taxi.

"RE: Complictions"
Posted by Snidget on 02-21-10 at 08:16 PM
So Jet and Cord make the 7 pm bus that leaves from the same terminal, but the other two teams are stuck there for the night

No more buses until the morning.

"RE: Complictions"
Posted by jbug on 02-22-10 at 09:06 AM
They were so stoopid to try to get to the other terminal.
It was already only a minute or so till time for that bus to leave;
why not just get tickets for the bus the cowboys were on?
Your 30 minute lead on that bus was already gone!

dumb dumber dumbest

"Bus problems"
Posted by vince3 on 02-21-10 at 08:15 PM
Some teams are taking the direct bus that left at 5:30 pm and others are trying to get there via connecting busses.......

Jet/Cord, however, ended up on a later bus..... but it turns out that the other teams' bus that was supposed to leave at 6:30 departed from a different place..... and they're not gonna make it! In fact, they missed it, and they're gonna have to jump on the Cowboy's bus that leaves at 7:00 back at the original bus terminal! Jet/Cord wave good-bye as they are out of there!

They ended up missing two buses and spent a round trip's worth of taxi fare! They're stuck. No more buses! Jeff/Jordan and Brandon/Caite are in deep trouble.

Well, now we know what J&J and B&C have in common:

One lonely brain cell.

Got a great laugh when Brent said Jeff & Jordan seem smart.

<<snort>>

"RE: Bus problems"
Posted by Earl Colby Pottinger on 02-21-10 at 08:22 PM
Even with all the bunching the cowboys are still well ahead of the other teams.

"Jet and Cord in first"
Posted by Snidget on 02-21-10 at 08:19 PM
The rest of the transfer people get a 1 am bus and may still et there before the direct people.

"RE: Jet and Cord in first"
Posted by Snidget on 02-21-10 at 08:20 PM
Nope first direct people et there first, but the transfer get there soon after.

Bret has to have Caite drive him because boy can't drive a stick shift.

"That's okay..."
Posted by Estee on 02-21-10 at 08:35 PM
...because judging by her clue box performance, Caite can't read at a driving-age level.

"Taking a boat to an island."

The lake is really rough.

Llama Adoration
Choose a llama and dress it up.

Condor Consternation.

Put on feet and wings. Must soar to a target with their clue.

"RE: Detour"
Posted by vince3 on 02-21-10 at 08:26 PM
I get the feeling that anyone doing Condor, especially if both aren't in shape, are gonna get wet multiple times.......

"RE: Detour"
Posted by vince3 on 02-21-10 at 08:28 PM
And Brent/Caite are our first to attempt! Apparently they're allowed to swim from wherever they land, though, because that's what Brent/Cait did after landing only halfway there.......

"RE: Detour"
Posted by Snidget on 02-21-10 at 08:30 PM
Jet and Cord, Llama whisperers.

Carol and Brandy also doing llamas
Joe and Heidi as well.

Caite and Brent doing Condor Don't fly far, the water is cold

Jeff and Jordan confused, but are going to fly. well, plummet.

Louie and Michael. Llamas

Joe and Heidi accost the sleeping llama but get it dressed.

Mom's doing the llamas.

Dan and Jordan driving around.

Steve and Allie plummet.

Last bus finally arrives.

"RE: Detour"

Llamas are really ugly. yuck.

"RE: Detour"

They smell bad too.

"RE: Detour"

I think they're cute.

Of course, I also think the potion-raised ones are really sarcastic.

"Grandma is happy"

She taught granddaughter how to drive a stick.

Mom's doing llamas, and got done before the cops.
Finally corners them with sticks.

I'm thinking that Jordan will be a natural at pulling the cow's teat.

Jeff razzed Jordan in confessional about just that before he started to do the Roadblock.....

Was that Jeff who just said, "San Jose. H-O-S-E"?
LOL

"RE: Roadblock"

Jordan said it.

"RE: Roadblock"
Posted by PepeLePew13 on 02-21-10 at 08:53 PM
Thanks for clarifying. The camera was on Jeff when the captions came out with the "San Jose. H-O-S-E." bit, but they sometimes come up a couple seconds after being said on TV.

I felt robbed. I kept waiting for someone to get that wrong, and then Jeff saved Jordan from her own brain.

I do hope that one of the next couple of legs involves a mental challenge. I really need the laugh.

"RE: Roadblock"

Me too. AR made such a thing about counting the eggs out to 13 I just knew someone was going to get it wrong. But no.

"RE: Roadblock"
Posted by jbug on 02-22-10 at 12:12 PM
But maybe someone did----
after all, they don't always show us everything---
but then again, I'm sure if someone go that wrong we'd have seen that

Sometimes they make these things look easy -
like some got lhama's dressed quickly...
and they only showed the cowboy figuring out how to carry everything at once.....
was it the cop who fell in the kitchen? it appeared that he had only his milk & eggs at that time..... cause he was complaining about not being able to find the pantry.

Ok, you are at a farm in Chile and you get greeted with German music, only on TAR does it make sense (a local community of German settlers).

I think there was quite a bit of immigration from Germany to South America. I thought it was mostly after WWII.

ETA: Looks like at least some was earlier in the 1900's.

"Baker's Dozen"

"RE: Baker's Dozen"

13.

One more than a regular dozen.

5. Monique and Shawne.
6. Jordan and Jeff.
7. Steve and Allie
8. Dan and Jordan
9. Louie and Michael
10. Jody and Shannon

They are eliminated from the race.

"RE: Finish Order"

Granny must have been really slow for the cops to get back there and pass them. I was getting Dandrew vibes from Jody & Shannon for a bit.

"RE: Finish Order"

In 16 TAR seasons, I've never seen another contestant move as slowly as Jody did during those bakery tasks.

"RE: Finish Order"

Well, she might've been slowed down from the stars she was probably still seeing after getting kicked in the head by a cow from her first attempt to get fresh milk.......

Once the leg is over why bother worrying about which bus some team got on in the previous leg? Waste of time - move on.
