Who let that happen?
LAST EDITED ON 05-03-09 AT 07:08 PM (EST)Margie and Luke second to arrive.
Tammy and Victor in third. They have to search the shops for the travelocity gnome.
Kisha and Jen unhappy as they get to the mat.
Jen looks like she was ready to be done, but they are still going and they finally look happy when they are in the taxi.
Margie and Luke find the next one.Take an electric bike past the forbidden city to the next clue.
Tammy and Victor find the second one, but are in first with the taxis.
Jamie and Cara having trouble with the taxi driver who won't let them know if they know where they are going.
Tammy finally figures out they are electric.Luke and the sisters nearly have another collision.
Tammy and Victor got to see the morning flag raise as the sun is now up.
Detour.
Opera or Waiter.
Opera, make each other up. Present to the Opera Master to get their clue.
Waiter. Order in Mandarin and recite correctly to the chef. When served they get their clue.
Tammy and Victor. Waiter
Keisha and Jen. Opera
Margie and Luke. Opera
Jamie and Cara. Opera
Tammy and Victor screw up the order the first time.Keisha and Jen working well together on the makeup.
Luke putting the make up on Margie and she won't sit still and keeps saying he is doing it wrong and he is frustrated.
Wow! Has their ever been a detour that so obviously favored one team over all the others?
I can't imagine anyone who doesn't speak Chinese being about to pronounce those words.
And then to have to serve the correct dished to the right people - having no idea what each one ordered?Guess we'll be seeing how the sisters fare at this one.
Chinese isn't that hard to mimic (doesn't have sounds in it that English speakers just can't make) Mostly if you say it loud and fast it comes out OK.It may be harder to get the right orders in the right place, I suppose it depends how the customers are in signaling which is theirs or not.
Well they finally got the orders to the chef right.
I'm impressed!
Loved the captions with the incorrect words given by K and J."Good Competition brak brak"
That was hilarious![]()
I don't blame Luke for getting upset with Margie. Does the make-up have to be perfect?
Or does it just bother her that she's gonna have to go out in public looking really really funny?
She just doesn't want to look like Alice Cooper...
Victor and Tammy get the order. Thought they said Squid instead of Fish.Second U-Turn. This one is not blind. If they use it they must post their picture. Go to the place on foot.
Jamie and Cara are still on route to the opera.
Keisha and Jen done with the Opera first. Also go on foot to the Uturn.
Tammy and Victor Uturning Keisha and Jen.
they are going to a street market for the next clue by taxi.
Are at the opera, the wrong opera. The national rather than the Beijing.Roadblock is Chinese delicacies. Grasshoppers and scorpions and starfish oh my. They are fried.
Victor was going to eat it raw.
It's not really raw. Those food were already pre-cooked. The rationale of frying it is to reheat it. They'll only fry it for like less than a minute.
The special Ugly American Task.Jamie and Cara with taxi issues at the wrong opera.
This is not going to be pretty.
I don't know which of them is which - but
the ugly one? is really really ugly.
Wonder if she' embarassed watching herself?
The really ugly one is Jamie. Love how she blamed the whole wandering around wasting time thing on Cara. Pffft.
Much respect to Victor with the cast iron stomach.I'm pretty sure that Tammy & Victor aren't the first people to speak the local language.
The Bird's Nest Arena from the Olypmics.Tammy and Victor done with Roadblock before anyone else got there. They are still trying to find people who know where the next clue box is.
Tammy and Victor came for the Olympics so they knew the name of the Bird's Nest.
Margie and Luke finally find the clue.Tammy and Victor are Team #1. Trip for two to the Galapagos Islands.
Cheerleaders and Sisters still trying to figure out where the clue box was.Margie does the Roadblock.
Keisha and Jen find it back at the opera house. They find the Uturn.
Jamie and Cara don't believe anyone who tells themwhere it is.
Keisha and Jen write it our how it sounded, but don't get it right the first time.
The cheerleaders are still lost.
Margie and Luke to the pitstop
Keisha and Jen are on there way to the roadblock.
Cheerleaders are very lost and whining.
Those two are really giving blonds a run for their money![]()
if Puffy was there giving them all directions
Too bad Puffy wasn't right there with Phil at the mat as the Official Greeter!
Jen doing the Roadblock.Cheerleaders finally get back to the opera house for their clue. At least they have turned on each other.
Margie and Luke are Team #2.
Cara and Jamie show up as Jen is eating.
I still can't tell them apart so not sure which one is eating.
Jen is finished before them but having problems getting a taxi for awhile, but leave before the cheerleaders.
Did Jen actually eat the shell of the starfish?
Vic & Margi broke it open and ate the inside.
Jen was eating every piece of it!
Hope she doesn't get appendicitis!
Jamie and Kara finally find a taxi driver they like.Jen has to pee really bad, and uses the porta potty.
Running around the arena.
Jamie and Cara, I am sorry to tell you that you are team #3. Could be the first all female team to win the race.
Keish and Jen are eliminated.
I can't believe she stopped to pee.
Lost a million dollar chance for a pee break.
Yup. I'd have wet my pants.![]()
If I peed as I ran, I peed. I'm sure there would be a place to change and clean up.The question is do you stand on the mat and drip or do a quick jump on then drip off the mat.
![]()
Good question. I'd probably just drip on it. Do you think the crew includes a mat cleaner upper?![]()
If they had not seen the port a potties, would she have just run on to find Phil?
prolly.
I can't believe she stopped.
Too bad she wasn't afraid of the water.
They lost because she had to pee?! Really?! Oh wow!Oh well, go Tammy & Victor.
Anyone see Urinetown? Even in that story, it was substantially less than $1M to go pee! Ouch. That elimination will definitely go down in reality history.
That had to be the biggest mistake ever made in AR history. How could you stop and go to the restroom when you're RIGHT THERE at the pit stop? Talk about p!ss!ng away a million dollars. I'm in shock....
LAST EDITED ON 05-03-09 AT 07:58 PM (EST)Hawaiian Luau. Carrying Pigs.
Jamie and Cara have taxi issues.
Jet Skis and Surf Board Searches.
Jamie and Cara have taxi issues.Imagine that.
It will be funny to see if they assume that they will be in an English speaking country.
"Jamie and Cara have taxi issues."That is so not new.. They always have taxi issues almost every leg. I was offended by Jamie saying it sucks to go to China coz no one speaks English. I don't wanna go to details on this.
I can't remember a finale that is so underwhelming to me. I actively dislike two of the teams and wasn't bowled over by the 4th team. I'll be watching but meh. I do like Tammy though.
Victor and Tammy against Margie and Luke. The third team didn't make much difference to me.
Tornado warnings, right now one county north. Was funny that they did the warning sounds over Joan and Melissa's rant from last week on The Celebrity Apprentice. You know, I couldn't tell the difference.

Be safe Snidgie.
Great hosting as usual.
Well at least I got to see the task assigned on CA before they went to all weather all the time.
Is there a way to find out exactly how long it was between Cara/Jaime arriving and when Kisha/Jen arrived? I noticed that C/J were nowhere to be seen when K/J arrived at the pit stop.
Stinky Musings <--- blog's been updated!
Maybe when their interview gets posted.
The Bird's Nest is a big venue, so it's likely both teams spent some time running around the grounds, looking for Phil. Given that Cara and Jaime had left the mat area by the time Kisha and Jen showed up, I suspect the finish wasn't that close.Like Snidge said, hopefully we'll get the answer in Kisha and Jen's post-exit interview.
Are you guys calling Phil a lier? Didn't he say to the sisters the finish was "litrally (spelled phonically to accentuate Phil's accent) seconds apart....."?Looks like everyone gets bunched again (big surprise) at the pig roast. Race to the finish with a puzzle at the end? If that's the case my money is on T/V.
We know they weren't "seconds" apart because Cara/Jaime spent at least a minute or two on the mat with Phil as he carried on a brief conversation with them about possibly being the first all-female team to win and that they're in the final 3, brak brak. There's the editing that undoubtedly cut a moment or two out somewhere in that sequence. Then they were nowhere to be seen in a wide shot of the pitstop as Kisha/Jen finally found where Phil was and then approached him while running to the pitstop. So obviously it wasn't mere "seconds".
I'd venture Phil said that because it makes for great drama. We know they always exaggerate or overhype things to build drama for TV purposes - it's called dramatic license.
Over on CBS's Amazing Race site, there is a video that shows Cara and Jaime talking to Phil on the pit stop mat. The video is 1:33 long and there is still no sign of Kisha/Jen at the end of that video. I'd say it was an absolute minimum of 1:50 or so as the 1:33 video started after Phil has already told the girls they're team number three (adding a few seconds before the 1:33) plus at least a few seconds for C/J to clear out as we didn't see them during K/J's approach to the mat.So the "litrally seconds apart" was totally for dramatic purposes. And it's possible that C/J would still have beaten K/J to the mat even if there was no bathroom break since I don't think it would take more than 2 minutes for Jen to do her business knowing it's a race to the finish. The producers and Phil played it up because it made for great TV.
