Thanks, that explains why nobody is here.
Ah, forgot it was preempted by the NCAAs...So far, the first clue said "get thee to Jaipur, India, and prepare your bodies for a huge shock going from the deep cold to the broiling heat."
All of the teams are bunched at the airport, naturally. Luke and Margie left at shortly after midnight, while the flight attendants were the last to leave at 3 a.m., so there's your bunching.
Upon arrival in Jaipur, teams must take a taxi to a special tree and find their next clue by picking up a telephone on site (note that the clue says "find Parvati!"). Victor/Tammy figured out the phone part immediately, but the next few teams all arrived and started wandering around the tree searching for a clue before one of them finally clued in that most trees located in the middle of nowhere don't usually have a bright red telephone sitting outside of it beside a mystic man, so that would naturally be where the clue.
Thanks, Pepe
Where is everybody? I don't watch it until tomorrow online. I come here to see what's happening. So, what's happening?
Basketball delay. If CBS can schedule sports so they screw up the Sunday night programming, they will.
The last basketball game ran until about 40 minutes after the hour. There might have been some post-game blathering, so it's late starting. Should be going in three or four minutes, I think.
It's my fault, TAR couldn't start until I got home, sorry!

At the roadblock, each team must pick one person to take care of a camel. The person must go and scoop up camel feed using traditional tools into a basket then bring back enough to cover up a line on a pole, and also use a bucket to bring back enough water to fill a trough.Victor has a sizable lead over the others. So far, I see Mel, Margie, Jaime, Mark and Kisha doing the roadblock. I don't remember seeing the flight attendants yet. Edit... it's Jodi doing it for the flight attendants.
And, boom. One of the locals slapped a camel on the butt and the camel sent him flying with a kick.
LAST EDITED ON 03-22-09 AT 08:04 PM (EST)Ummm... Mel still had a good 3-4 inches to go before covering up the line on the pole, and the guy gave him the clue. Other teams had to go all the way to the line before they got their clues.
Mel definitely needed to make one more trip but he got a big break. Not that it'll matter as the flight attendants are still in the middle of the pack and they'll have to do a speed bump later in this episode. They're looking more and more like toast, depending on how quickly they can do the detour.
Christine and Jodi get to do this particular task that nobody else has to do: decorate an elephant with paint.Instant flashback to the movie, The Party with Peter Sellers...
Once again... STFU!
Just started here, finally......Margie/Luke 12:18am
Tammy/Victor 12:24am
Jamie/Cara 12:30am
Mel/Mike 1:01am
Mark/Michael 1:02am
Kisha/Jen 1:28am
Christie/Jodi 3:09am (Yowza!)
Luke, best tears you've shed. Kudos.
Did you notice how Margie just sat there stoically while Luke sat there bawling his eyes out at the sights of the people in the street?
Please don't make me delve into my Psych classes to determine why that THAT was.
If Margie and Luke win, at least Luke isn't *gag* Kendra.
Actually, I mentioned in another thread that I see a Flo/Zach edit from these two, so don't be too shocked if they do end up winning.Margie has been edited as the patient bionic superwoman (Luke mentioned the 'bionic woman' bit again tonight) just like Zach was as the patient superRacer in his season.
Luke is the one being edited going into hysterics, with lots of screeching (at least through his signing) and drama during tasks like Flo was in her season, although Luke is far more capable than Flo.
I think that your Flo/Zack edit is right on.Even given Luke's historonics, they will not even come close to the worst teams to win. Not even in the ballpark.
Pit Stop... I'll let the other East Coasters fill you in when they get caught up, but don't miss the Indian guy playing the kazoo (or whatever the instrument is called) using his nostrils.
LAST EDITED ON 03-22-09 AT 09:01 PM (EST)Definitely one of my favorite native greeters this week! Twin flutes in both nostrils. Now that's what I call talent!
*giggle* One of my favorite moments of the episode is a shot of Phil and the native greeter, waiting for the 2nd to last team to arrive. I have to rewatch it, but it looked as though Phil was growing weary of the pipe music. "Dude, don't you know any other tune?"
An elephant lightly steps on the butt of one of the contestants.Margie collapses from the heat in Thailand after completing a task pulling a rickshaw.
And you gotta love the one-armed Thai Tiger Trainer in next week's episode! Wonder how that happened?
Margie collapses from the heat in Thailand after completing a task pulling a rickshaw. And Phil was there for it?
Mark and Mike can't find an elephant in a haystack.
Big suprise!
I really thought Christie and Jodi were going to pull it out with their Dandrew luck! That was just perfect for Mark and Michael not to be able to find something. They sure didn't make it by much.
I think Mark and Mike just took over the Dandrew role with their bumbling over the last two episodes...
Is it over yet? Who came in first and who was last?
Surprised to see nobody else has posted the list yet!Going from memory:
1. Victor/Tammy
2. Mel/Mike
3. Kisha/Jen
4. Luke/Margie
5. Cara/Jaime
6. Mark/Michael
7. Flight Attendants - eliminated
I couldn't believe they went for biking the barrels of hay -- it really seemed a no brainer to pick the street dancing. I like these guys, but they're making some poor decisions (not to mention, going the wrong way all the time).I don't know which one is the rude girl, Cara or Jaime, but ugh! One of them wins the "Rude American" award, week after week. Deserved or not, they are getting an unsympathetic edit: Seen screeching at the taxi cab driver, seen crying over the fate of animals in India, but no mention of whether they feel bad for any of the people living there.
Contrast with Mel, who did get frustrated with a cab driver, then is remorseful and apologetic.
I'd love to see Mel and Mike win, although I don't see how that's possible -- but in the final 3 would be great.
All of the histrionics and bitchiness are coming from Jaime... granted, even with Cara's even-tempered nature to balance the team it's more than enough for one team.
I am getting tired of the red head dramatics!
Enough already!!!!
I'm very levelheaded, but I'd be horribly upset too if my taxi disappeared and I had to spend 20 minutes running around in sunny, super-hot weather looking for it. Add exhaustion and jet lag to a person who's a bit beotchy by nature, and you get what we saw last night.I may be in the minority, but I'm still rooting for Cara and Jaime.
