Hello! I heard some rumors saying TAR 9 was only taking place in North America....well, i cannot tell you where I work but i came across the crew (sound, production, etc) and it seems the cast will be coming tomorow to Montreal for the weekend! They were being very hush hush about their presence in Montreal but I was able to get some info from my supervisors....so its 100% believable!

I haven't heard anything about them coming to Montreal but if the producers chose this week-end to come here, that will probably bog down the race. The downtown streets are closed to car traffic due to 2 festivals ("les Francofolies" and gay pride) and the subways are crowded with the presentation of the World aquatic championship. Lots of activities but not if you're in a hurry!!

Given the general sense of the spoilers so far -- that
TAR 8 started in New York City in early July, headed south to Penn., Virginia, SC and Alabama, etc. , disappeared for a while maybe to Central America, maybe to Montana, -- the spoilers out of Toronto and Montreal are right, then it sound like they are completing their North America tour in the Northeast, maybe Boston? Or could they continue in the Maritime provinces of Canada, heading for Halifax maybe? THis is pure speculation, but I would guess the finale is going to be in the Northeast, maybe back to NYC?

I am in Montreal and I see this kind of rumor about every season and I have to say I will believe it when I see it.

I guess some day they will come as there is a lot they could have them do, but at this point I have real hard time just believing they would be filming TAR9 already... It would normally occur during the fall.

I'm pretty sure that the original post was meant to say TAR 8. Obviously TAR 9 wouldn't be filming yet. They were just doing open casting calls in Ohio last month. But from everything I'm hearing, TAR 8 is North America only, with one exception, that being Panama. I heard that the race started in New York City under a bridge, and ends at Niagara Falls.

Montreal seems like a likely TARF destination to me. It's a convenient location for the teams to deal with a language barrier without having to travel too far. And as someone who has never been there (but would like to visit someday), I hope this rumor is correct.

IMHO Montreal wouldn't represent much of a language barrier, especially downtown where you sometimes have trouble being served in French. (I'm French and I live in Montreal so I should know)

If they want to really see the language barrier they should get out of Montreal, anywhere else in Quebec, they would have more difficulties.

My daughter visited from Montreal a few days ago and brought me a "TAR" name tag as a souvenir. I know it's fake, but it could go a ways to dispel some of the Montreal sightings/rumours.

She knows I'm a TAR addict and thought it might be the real thing. She doesn't know beans about TAR (I'm only responsible for half her genes or she'd be as addicted as I am) so she didn't have too many details about where she found the card. She vaguely remembers finding it 'downtown' which is still a pretty big area, about a month ago. With her lousy sense of time, it could have been anytime in August, but from what I could figure out after intense interrogation, it could easily have been within the first 10 days or so of August. That might be the race we're talking about in this thread.

Montreal IS in the continent of North America. That basically encompasses Canada, the US, and Mexico. Just FYI =)
